UPDATE: I have purchased a second battery, to have with me just in case... I do recommend purchasing the gopro dual port Supercharger, it charges the batteries much quicker than the usb into the computer... Now, after testing this battery and the original, I found that recording video continuosly in 2K, 30frames per second, my battery lasted 1hr. 25min. before it showed only approx. 3min. left before it would shut off, it probably would last longer if I did not have other things going, like image stabilizer, etc... so being a battery that just came out..., this is probably where it should be... I would recommend this. No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
- Good to have extra batteries.- September 6, 2019
I bought a go pro hero black 7 and love to take a video of my son's . I don't want to run out of the battery so I bought 2 batteries. Two weeks after I bought the camera we went to the Disneyland in LA I took my gopro hero7 with me and took alot of video. When my battery running low I switched to the other one. I only problem with the tape part to pull the battery out ,the heat from camera made the glue loose and when I pulled out the battery the tape fall out and the battery stuck half way it hard to took out. Finally after I took that battery out I put clear tape on 3 of them to help pulled out easy. I wish they made the battery part like regular camera this tape thing just not seem to work out.Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.
- Backwards compatable to 5/6/7, but short life- February 2, 2019
These batteries have a bad habit of the plastic tab breaking off which makes it hard to get the battery out of the camera. These batteries also have a bad habit of swelling up and then they are hard to get in/out of the camera. Based on these two items, if you use your GoPro frequently like I do on my motorcycle, you will find you need to replace batteries about every 6 months. So while the construction is poor, GoPro have priced these relatively cheap at $19.99 so it doesn't break the bank when you have to buy new. That price is much more reasonable than Sony or Nikon would charge.Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.
