- It dependsReviewed by WingManDan - January 19, 2022
I mostly wanted the Nest Hub to listen to music by connecting it to quality speakers via Bluetooth. It works and sounds great. Voice commands to the Google assistant are immediate and always accurate. It does a ton of other cool stuff too. Here is the problem: The Nest Hub will NOT stay connected to Bluetooth. It seems like it goes into a sleep mode overnight or something and drops the connection. No way to turn off the sleep mode to keep it active. WiFi stays connected, no problem. Bluetooth, never. I have to go through the pairing routine every day if I want audio to go to my speakers instead of the built-in Hub speaker.

Report - Sleep sensing not workingReviewed by Dean N - December 9, 2021
It's weird. I bought 2 of them with nearly half the price, thanks to Black Friday. However, my wife's device is working with sleep sensing, and mine is not, even though I set them up exactly the same. I thought mine was defect, so I went back to store to exchange another one. Then you know what? It doesn't work too! I went to the Google Nest Hub forum and there were a lot of people complaining about this issue, problem not solved. My Nest Hub was set up with Google Home, Google Assistant, Google Fit. All checked up with no problems of connection between them. My Gmail account is not the business one. I reset couples of times. No success.

Report - BasicReviewed by Kirk - January 13, 2022
Controls temperature does all the things a modern digital thermostat does but able to program it via your phone or tablet instead of on the device it self, would appreciate more data though like tracking the temperature in the house via outside temp and graph it with how long my heat\cool was on for, especially in the summer time a feels like temperature would be appreciated for in house. 3 stars because I feel like I could get the same results from a traditional digital programmable thermostat for alot cheaper, if I were to be given more data on my useage which would help me be more energy efficient I would rate higher atm the "smart" feels like a gimmick

It seems a bit glitchy and not as straightforward as I was expecting. I have the mini as well, so thought it would be as easy/plug and play as that. I was looking forward to using it as a photo display. I'm not interested in hooking my lights, appliances, etc up to it. I don't need it to tell me if I'm sleeping or not. I really would like to play music and videos from my Google premium acct, which, again, isn't all that straightforward. The app is super basic so that's a bit disappointing too. I'm off to watch more YouTube videos from my phone to see how to get the best out of this best hub. I'll have to put more time and effort into it for the results I wanted.

No, I would not recommend this to a friend. - Missing featuresReviewed by Family room - September 16, 2021
The hub does most of what the hub max does except that this one does not seem to have a camera….I find that point pretty disappointing since I was hoping to be able to monitor different rooms with that smaller unit.Another thing I find fairly disappointing is the Nest Aware subscription required to enjoy the full features of the system… it’s expensive and really and truly seems to be a great service BUT sort of a bummer since I bought all Nest devices…and free subscription or anything to try out all features for a year let’s say….And I have two hubs, one co and smoke detector, and the front entrance bell.
