Love This Chromebook

I have to say, this is one of the nicest laptops I have ever used regardless of OS. The build quality is perfect, as is the design. The spongy rubber palm rest is a little "different", but time will tell how it holds up to wear and being soiled by skin oil, dust, grime etc. The inclusion of the android app store has finally made Chrome OS a full fledged mature OS capable of doing most required tasks, and playing a few good games. The screen is absolutely brilliant, and I love flipping it around and using as a touchscreen tablet. The battery life is also excellent, and I can get a full day's use with power to spare (10 hours of near steady use.) The only real stumbling block I've come across is my inability to print directly from the Pixelbook as there are no drivers like you'd find on Windows or OSX. I don't have a cloud print enabled printer, so printing is a bit of a work around where I print to a PDF and then use the "Canon PRINT Business" android app to sent to my Canon MF8080C printer. Still, I highly recommend this notebook to anyone who doesn't require a Mac of PC for task specific software.

Price-Class Relationship

I think the price argument is pretty valid. No one would give a fuel efficient, safe and stylish Mercedes one star because its price tag. But you take a 1956 Renault Dauphine and revamp it just to look like a Porsche cayenne and put such a whopping price on it, everyone has a legitimate right to call on your rationale of pricing and give an OVERALL one star, as I do.

Fantastic

Absolutely fantastic! Had it for about 3 weeks now and I can say it's by far the best laptop I've owned. Very sleek design, extremely fast, almost instant boot-up. The addition of Google Play Store makes it the best of both worlds, desktop and mobile. Oh, and it comes with Google Assistant built-in. Make sure you check out the offers page - I just redeemed 6 months of free Netflix, 3 months of free Google Play Music and 100GB free storage on Google Drive. It's by far the best premium laptop on the market.

Not for the masses

This is a chromebook for the person who wants to plan for the future. Install crossover and windows apps will run natively without all the hassle of a windows computer. Droplet is coming out soon to do the same and I'm pretty sure google has something up there sleeve as well because they have never produced a chromebook with this kind of local storage, something that will be required to run windows and mac apps.

Don't mess up the rating

Don't come on here and give this thing one star because you don't like the price of it. What a waste of time.

Future

The Product isn't about what it offers today. In a world where software makes a difference, I think that this product provides a platform so that programmers will create software that will integrate with the google cloud offerings. The chipset allows for 4K video and managing .stl 3d files that is not possible on lower cost chrome books.

not your mom's chromebook

Why write a review for a product that you have A) not physically touched, B) have never utilized in any sense of the word, C) have not researched? Really don't get the arm-chair warriors out there... Virtue shaming is alive even in best-buy reviews...

$1599... seriously?

Why on earth would anyone spend that kind of coin on a Chromebook? Why?
