- Quality product at a compelling price point.- October 24, 2020
Over the years my music listening habits have evolved from “high fidelity” at any cost to emphasizing convenience and a limitless selection of musical options at ones fingertips. So I have become a devoted fan of streaming music over Bluetooth to speakers spread throughout my home, in my car and even outdoor spaces. The HK Onyx 6 comes from an iconic pioneer in the audio world and it delivers the goods. It’s portability, it’s unique appearance and it’s dynamic sound (with an emphasis on the lower frequencies that will appeal to bass junkies) all conspire to create a compelling package being sold at an even more compelling price. Unconditional recommendation.
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend. - Lasts maybe an year maximum- August 12, 2020
I had the onyx studio 5 not 6. It is an upgrade from onyx studio 2. The onyx 5 stutters and stops very frequently now. I cant tolerate the disturbances anymore and i started using my old onyx 2 instead. I made a big mistake by buying the onyx 5 while my onyx 2 is still working. the latest versions of onyx portables are a joke. Get the regular stereos maybe, stay away from their portable products. I dont write so much usually but the fact that they keep releasing new ones that are more expensive and low quality is very outrageous. I have harmon kardon on my bmw 4 series 2018 and i love it, no complains on that whatsoever. But not a chance for portable, never again.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend. - 1 Subwoofer?- December 29, 2020
I've owned the 3rd and tested the 4th and 5th. I've just recently bought the 6th and though it was better than the 5th in terms of treble it lacked the bass that came with the 4th and 3rd. There's little to no difference between the 4th and 3rd other than better battery life. I understand that the 6th is waterproof but no longer had that cool experience where it pumps it's bass when powered on. And seriously, why move from 2 subwoofers to 1 oval(larger surface area) subwoofer? You removed stereo hearing and that took away the immersion of the onyx studio. I felt strongly insulted as it felt like a hate message from Harman Kardon telling me to buy 2 of the 6th or GTFO.
