Great Laptop All Around

I used it for school and it is amazing. Taking notes and typing feels great

Amazing laptop. Very high quality love it!

I have had this laptop for about 3 weeks or so now. And I really can not find anything I don't like about it. I have had zero issues with it. This thing is fast! I am coming from the original HP Envy X2 and the speed difference is just unreal. I thought my Envy was fast, not even close to this. I have not had this laptop hang up or slow down on me at all. The screen is just amazing same with the feel of the keyboard. The backlite keyboard is great also. The pen that comes with it is point on and do not see any lag at all using it. Like I said I really can't find anything wrong with this except that it can get a little hot on your legs if the fan come on. 98% of the time the fan is off. I had to shut off the HP solutions app that was causing it to heat up and fan run on full. Once that was taken care of it was all good. I highly recommand this laptop to everyone.

Can be better

This laptop was very good and easy to carry around but, a few days later, the laptop screen broke and the touch screen was not working. I was upset about that.

Nice Ultrabook

Beautiful ultra book. Yes, at times its very heat and loud fan noise. but mostly when doing windows update. Other than that, its very cool, and no noisy. Windows 10 Home users face over heat issue and fan noise, as Microsoft doesn't allow home users to control the windows update. So updates can trigger anytime in background and users feel over heat. Whenever I feel heat, I check the windows update, and it runs. Microsoft should allow home users to control the windows update as in previous operating systems. need to install updates on demand not automatically. And not sure why this gets very hot during windows update. HP may need to enhance the heat management.

beautiful piece of technology

if your in the market for an ultra book , this is where its at. if you can afford the top tier black and gold model, get that. soooooo nice.

aside from this beautiful design this laptop is one of the best laptops you can buy especially if your a Windows User who wants something portable and affordable that looks like a MBP but for a Good Price ! however since this model only has a base line version I would only recommend it for people who do light work on Pc's based on this computer's storage. ASIDE FROM THAT ID DEFINITELY RECOMMEND THIS LAPTOP!

Great 2 in 1

Of the various tablets and laptops, Apple, Windows, or Chromebooks, the HP Spectre is my favourite. Love the versatility of the stylus/tablet, as well as the great Windows 10 laptop. Highly recommend.

Best in it's class

This ultra book is simply amazing. Build quality is superb. The keyboard feels excellent with good feedback and travel. The trackpad is good although I wish HP went with precision drivers. The screen is gorgeous. It has no backlight bleed and the black levels are actually surprisingly really good. The minimal bezels makes it a treat to watch videos and movies. I think the fact that HP decided to include pen support and include the pen in the box was a smart move. I don't use the pen much but it's nice to know that I have the option if I choose. Thermals are also good with the laptop only getting a little warm when pushing the CPU. Fan noise has been minimum and they rarely come on unless your playing games or generally pushing the laptop. Overall I think this was a great buy and excellent value for the money when on sale compared to the completion.

The laptops design is great, the audio is amazing, the screen is simply beautiful. But with such an expensive price tag, to have a laptop such as this overheat, and have the fan constantly on is disappointing. It's extremely noisy with minimal browsing. I am sure this is not just a defective model. As this is my third replacement, and there is a lot of complaints online about the same issue. Great laptop in general minus the noise. I don't see this laptop being functional after a year of use. Will be returning it.

I decided to buy the spectre x360 after months of research! I believe I made an amazing decision. I have only had it for about a week now but I have been blown away by it's processing speed, loud speakers, beautiful display, perfectly spaced tactile keyboard, smooth accurate touch pad and MORE! The included pressure sensitive stylus and leather like sleeve are also a really nice bonus. I would highly recommend this laptop.

But it.

If you are even considering buying this laptop buy it. The build quality is amazing, it feels sturdy but is surprisingly light. The usb-c ports are so useful and the keyboard is really nice, its clicky but not to much, it allows you to type very fast, i also like the back lighting. The screen is amazing, but does have glare, which can get pretty bad.The track pad is better than a mac book in my opinion and the speakers are great. The only reason i have to not buy this is the price, and the ports. Its worth the price but its still a lot to spend. The limited ports can easily be overcome by buying an accessory that turns the usb-c port into multiple usb-a ports or what ever you want. If your reading this review, then you should buy it cause your already considering it and you won't regret it. P.S I've had it for 5 months and not a single regret or problem.

Perfect laptop for students and professionals alike!

Had this laptop for a week, and so far it's blown my expectations. The build quality is spectacular and really feels premium. Performance is very snappy. The SSD in it is very fast, and makes boot up times and application opening times very, very fast. As a student, the 2-in-1 feature is really practical and convenient for me, as I can easily use it either as a regular laptop to type down documents and such, or flip it into tablet mode and jot down notes with the stylus. Battery life is excellent: I'm easily getting over 10 hours on a full charge. Thermals are pretty good, and acoustics are excellent: the fans don't even turn on unless Windows Updates are running, or I'm putting the laptop under heavy load (such as gaming), etc. Unlike other laptops of this size, the Spectre still has an USB type-A port (in addition to two USB type-C ports) so that you can still use devices that use the old USB style plug. My one small complaint is the lack of a SD card reader, but it's a compromise that I'm willing to live with. The laptop also supports Thunderbolt 3, which will DEFINITELY be mainstream within a few years, as its functionality will soon be put to use very well. It might cost quite a bit, but for what you're getting (solid build quality, fast performance, and amazing functionality), but it's 110% worth it!

Nailed it!!!

I've been waiting for three years for a two in one that has the qualities found in this convertible. I do a lot of financial education for my clients who need comprehensive insurance and investment planning. The Spectre allows me to pull up PDF files and mark them up for custom presentations when in tablet mode. I can then flip it back to laptop mode to run all my business and illustration software. Completely seamless in the transition. What made this truly a dream for me is the included active digital pen. It allows my clients to digitally sign documents when permitted to do so. Boots up to desktop from stone cold in seven seconds! My only complaint is the pen. The clip is made of molded plastic and has snapped off already just three weeks in. Otherwise I am very content with the whole package and price point.

right CTRL button is useless

it's a nice laptop overall, but there is one issue in the Canadian version - the right CTRL button is replaced with another button for | and \ (I assume it's done for the French layout), and there is no way to switch it to operate as CTRL button again. Which means if you use it with English layout only this button is useless. Might not be an issue for some, but for some using CTRL-arrow shortcuts is essential. I tried using key remappers and none worked. Changing keyboard setting to US English did not help either. I contacted HP and their reply was that it's not possible to change it back to CTRL. BestBuy in the very least should mention it on the product page, and provide clear pictures of the Canadian model keyboard.
