  • Still works. 3 years.

I bought the HomeWorX HW-150PVR on Sunday, May 15, 2016. After 3 y, it still works fine. I had seen all the bad reviews but there aren't any other options. Before, I had the HomeWorX HW100STB. I think that died in a couple of years. It was a bad capacitor on the power supply side that I was able to fix but in 2 months, it died again. All the caps are fine. Perhaps it is a bad chip, I am thinking the problem is the B1131 JCB17 from KENTO. Anyway, the HW-150PVR has a much faster menu. It works fine except that it has problems saving to a USB memory stick formated with NTFS format. FAT32 format works fine. I get about 17 channels in Montreal. I use it with a CRT TV and I am not really interested in HD BD CD DVD yack yack hoo hoo. You can get a firmware update from HomeWorX but I have not bothered updating mine. And it's still going strong. I get about a dozen channels in the GTA. It won't let me choose a star rating on my mobile device, but I'd give it 5 big ones.

  • Very limited life.

Bought this and used it a few months. Worked. Had to reset it once near the 3rd month. Haven't used it for 3 or 4 months and now it has completely failed. Thinking of buying this? It's EXCREMENT. DO NOT BUY. WASTE OF MONEY. DON'T EVEN ACCEPT IT AS A FREE GIFT. IF SOMEONE OFFERS IT TO YOU FREE, PUNCH THEM. THEY ARE NOT YOUR FRIEND. THEY HATE YOU. That's all the good things I can say about this product.
