Poor Quality - stay away from this product

I bought this product on March 20th in order to use my laptop for a 3 screen set-up (my other monitor is an LG 27' that I have been using for 2 years). I was very happy with my set until recently. On April 30th when I turn it on, the half of the screen became black. Since the 14 days passed I couldn't return back the product for an exchange, I have called HP Support to review the case. I sent them a picture they just told me the screen had an impact and the monitor can't be replaced. My only option is buy another monitor I have used solely for my work, and there is no children in my house. So I am still wondering how the screen have managed to break. My conclusion: - poor quality material - turn on button and control buttons are the back of the monitor - if you really want it, but the protection plan.

Great Monitor

Got it on sale. Nice 27 inch monitor with amazing color reproduction. Sharp screen, great contrast, thin bezels. Power button placement is weird.

Great monitor that no one ever heard of

I'm just going to say right now, great monitor. No real complaints here. The only reason it's getting 4 stars instead of 5 is because Dell's UltraSharp line is my standard for IPS monitors. Anyway, the one thing here that threw me for a loop was no one seemed to know this monitor existed. HP has about a thousand model numbers and different brands for monitors that it's impossible to keep track of it all, but someone out there usually does; not for the 27w, apparently. No reviews, no comparisons, nothing. It's a little expensive compared to the LG alternatives (available at BestBuy) and the ASUS ones, but otherwise its specs are the same as the other 27" IPS offerings at BestBuy, it just costs a little less. Weirdly, its specs are better than the thinner 27es IPS offering from HP and the price is significantly better. The monitor clocks in at a 5ms GTG response time, so this will work fine for video games. Colour gamut looks gorgeous and the backlight is beautiful and bright. I'm usually not okay with 1080p at this size, but it actually works out and looks beautiful to boot. Definitely no buyer's remorse here.

very nice monitor, good all purpose monitor, little bit weak on games.

The hp 27w is a very nice monitor, thin frame save space. Color is ok, but it is a little on the pale side, need increase about 10% vibrance in the videocard settings. very good for website movie, a little bit weak on games. Because of the low response time, while playing fps games it feels like skipping frames, but not too bad. It worths the price, will recommend to friends.

Value for money

I was looking for the least expensive 27" monitor that did not look or feel cheap. This is bang on. Used it just for a day and yet to find flaws. The screen is good, the bezels are super slim on three sides and it looks surpisingly premium. You can VESA mount it and it tilts a bit. If this works long term it is absolutely worth the money.

got it on sale and love it, power button is a bit weird but not a deal breaker.

power button in awkward position at the back

I bought two of these monitors to mount on an arm. The power button is located in an awkward location on the back so it is not easy to get to when the monitor is VESA mounted. The matte finish and thin bezel is nice. Overall I good monitor for the price.
