Good Features

I reviewed printers online before heading out. I already decided I wanted HP because my current printer is HP and it finally pooched out after 12 years so it owed me nothing. I don't need a printer with all the bells and whistles. This model served my needs sufficiently. The only negative is the larger footprint it occupies in my home office but that was not a deal breaker. I was told in the store that all I had to do was install the cd that comes with the printer, follow the instructions and presto, done! There was no cd in the box so before panicking I went to HP's website, found the install site and was ready to print within five minutes. Extremely easy, even for someone like myself who is technically challenged at times. The biggest plus for me, is the fact that the ink cartridges are A LOT cheaper than my old printer. Another positive! For personal printing, this is a great printer.

doesn't communicate with devices

When I first bought it, it set up easily and worked but when I tried to use it to actually complete a project I kept getting errors that " printer is not found" even though it said printer was ready. I deleted and reinstalled and it was the same issue. I got the app for my phone and it also has same issue. I got it to work by using the screen on the printer but you can't choose where to save etc. I need a printer that works with my computer/phone and tablet as it says it does! I have all Apple products but it does say it's compatible so unsure what the issue is. I googled reviews outside of this site and found its a common issue with this model even though the only other person who wrote a review here had no issues. I am returning it and probably go with another canon this time. The reason I am writing a review is so anyone considering buying it will have more info on how it actually works on mac & iPhone/ipad.

Better than I expected

Little worried at first coz there isn’t a review about it, but it was a relief after set up was so easy. I didn’t have problem connecting to wifi. I printed a photo right away and it’s exactly what hp promised a lab quality pictures. Color copy is excellent like original, so as the scan. Overall it was a great printer for the price I paid.
