Not Many More Pages

I have tried the XL cartridges on this and several other separate ink colours and I do not seem to get any more pages from my printer than the regular 'non-XL' cartridges that cost less. Don't waste your money on these XL ones. They run out or quit working just as soon as the regular ones - there is no benefit. When I change the XL cartridge to replace it with a new XL one, the weight of the 'empty' one seems almost identical to the new one I am replacing it with. It's almost like the cartridge only lasts a certain number of weeks in the printer then dries up or quits. The cartridge certainly doesn't feel like it is empty. The printer control panel shows the ink level as empty, and the page colour deteriorates, so I have to assume that the cartridge has stopped working, although I find it hard to believe that it went 'empty' as quick as the regular ones and I did not get any more pages from it. Waste of money!

Pages printed for 564XL

I installed a new 564XL cartridge on March 2, 2013 in a Photosmart 5510. I record every pages I printed since. Today is Dec 29, 2013, I had printed less than 100 pages of normal letter size documents and it needed a new cartridge. It is very expensive! What happened? Is it the printer or the ink that not functioning properly?
