Very slow!

Bought this computer to replace my 10 years old AMD that running Windows 7 in Christmas 2016. Did not expect the new one is way slower than my old one. It is even slower than my other 15 years old computer with 4 GB RAM and Windows XP. Very disappointed.

Good except for - - -

Love HP stuff usually very good. But Windows 10 not as good as 8.1. Beware of Cortana and don't install it if you don't have to. Had it once, found out about it and UNinstalled it. Then found it still was listening! So got ride of W10 totally and went back to 8.1. Cortans listens to everything in the room and digitizes it, then sends that digital conversation 'somewhere' for future reference. If you like being spied on 24/7, go ahead.

Very Basic Starter

Intel Core i3. You can't get any slower than this. It is not a powerful pc by any means and cannot be upgraded. If you are looking for something for your children to do homework on, this is it. No games will play on this and you cannot run graphic programs unless you have months to edit a picture. (Yes, it is that slow!) It is on sale for a reason. Be forewarned!

The HP is one of the best on the market

My old computer was 17 years old and Vista was no longer supported. I did some research and decided on this desk top computer. It really is all that it says it is and I am very pleased with the speed and with windows 10. I was a little unsure at first as I have only used Vista but I found this computer very easy to get along with. It's fast and is compatible with with what I need. I read all the reviews on this computer and am pleased to say that I rate this a 5 star.

a lot slower than expected. Windows 10 too busy. Give me Vista back. Only had for 2 weeks so maybe will improve

An excellent small desktop computer, very fast and powerful.

I started using home computers since the release of Microsoft software Dos 3.2 and building most of my own computers. Microsoft Windows 10 is a very powerful software program and requires a lot of memory ram, to keep all the many execution files, fully functional in standby execution mode. This small HP home computer has a very big fast punch. Has a processor Intel core processor (i3-6100T 6th generation), processor speed (3.2 GHz) and memory ram (12 GB). I placed four sticky back felt pads on the none vented air side, the right side face and mounted the desktop computer horizontal.

Noisy an had to send it back for repair after a month

Bought it around Christmas. Less than a month later it stopped booting. Sent it back to HP for repair. Got it back within 1 week. Hard disk was replaced. It is a noisy computer(hard disk, fan).

Poor Computer - Returned after 1 day

Computer was shockingly slow and would not hold a WI-fi connection. All other devices in the house work fine but this would drop connections every few minutes even though it was right near the router and showed almost full signal. As it would be used in a location I couldn't plug into Ethernet, the computer was useless to me. Reading online this appears to be a common and known issue with HPs. You would think with today's wifi technology that they would put cards in these that are able to take advantage, even at a value price point.

Sent in for repair less than one month after purchase

Used it for 3 weeks. Hard Drive started making high pitch noise and that was the end of it. It was a faulty got replaced but we lost all our pictures and videos, really uncool. Just received it back, the hard disk started making noises....

HP Slimline PC (Intel Core i3-6100T/2TB HDD/12GB RAM/Intel HD 530

I like this computer because it has a small size and reasonable price.

HP Slimline PC (Intel Core i3-6100T/2TB HDD/12GB RAM/Intel HD 530 Graphics/Windows 10)

Computer itself is great. I do not like windows 10. Windows 7 was much easier to navigate.

Fantastic computer except for keyboard

I'd have given this 5 stars if not for the bilingual keyboard. Computer supports dual monitors. I connected an HDMI cable to my TV. It has two USB 3.0 ports and four USB 2.0 ports. The computer is tiny and doesn't take up much space. The left shift key on the bilingual keyboard is tiny so I kept on pressing on the slash key between the left shift key and the Z key. None of my other keyboards have a tiny shift key like that.

Good value, decent upgrade

I was looking for a replacement PC for my HP Pavilion that was still running on Vista. My old PC had 6 GB RAM and 500 GB memory which is more than adequate for my basic needs. But Vista is no longer supported and all the computer experts kept telling me that I might as well get a new PC because Windows 10 might not work with my old software (i.e MS Office). While I believe that my old PC has the capacity to be upgraded to Windows 10, I opted for a new PC when I saw this model on sale. It was smaller, had 12 GB RAM and 2 TB of memory. I bought new MS Office for this PC.because apparently the software that is downloaded is specific to each PC and non-transferable. I don't know if it is a hardware or software problem but this PC doesn't process as fast as expected. Maybe because it's not a quad core like my old PC. Could use some more high speed USB ports (it only has 2). Haven't tested the SD card reader or DVD drive yet but I don't expect any problems. Overall, nice compact size, quiet, and has all the features I was looking for.. I've only had it a few weeks but so far, so good.

Decent PC for the price

I got this on sale a few weeks ago, and so far so good. Runs smooth enough for everyday tasks like web browsing and word processing. It is slower than I had expected with a Core-i3 processor, but no issues otherwise

Very happy!

Bought it on sale...very good price....starts up and shuts down quickly....everything working the way it should ....hard drive groans a little but not enough to annoy. So far so good

Very Happy!

This computer is everything I expected. It is SO much faster than my old computer, which I have been wanting to replace for over a year. The sale price I got during the Boxing Day Sale was awesome for all the memory, etc., as I researched a lot before choosing this one. I am quite pleased with Windows 10, as well, even though I was a little skeptical about this operating system. It is way better than Vista, for sure! I am very happy with this computer!

  • from Fonthill, ON

Great little computer for the price!

Bought the computer during the Boxing Day specials, and is a great computer, for the price I paid. The computer is very fast and I have had no problems with it so far. I did have Windows professionally installed, to avoid any set-up issues.

  • from TORONTO, ON

The computer is great - very quick and compact. Lots of features they want you to install which is a bit annoying as you spend ages deciding what you really need but once that's sorted it's quite nice. Would be nice if it came with Microsoft Office pre-installed, but overall no complaints.

  • from Burnaby, BC

Very Good PC!

I was able to play overwatch with over 50 fps with this little machine. It is a great alternative to the Alienware Alpha small form factor gaming PC.

  • from Ottawa, ON

Great little computer with big power

This computer is an amazing buy for the boxing day price. It is fast and has large storage. It will cost me way more to buy every hardware that this little HP Slimline packed. This computer is a good buy no regrets.

Archaic Network Card

Archaic Network Card that supports only bng, but not ac. You will never be able to connect to Wi Fi at high speed.

Great value

I had been looking for a new desktop computer for about a year; seen lots of machines with less Ram, different cpu etc. But nothing close to this price. Set up was quick easy and painless. Hooked it up to my TV, streamed a movie and the quality was outstanding . Love the compact size.

HP Slimline PC

Ordered it online and it was delivered within a few days. I was busy so it sat for two weeks. Took it out of the box and set it up yesterday. It took about 4 to 5 hours to load all my additional software and transfer files but all went well. This is replacing a 7 year old HP running Windows Vista. The new computer starts up a lot faster - incredibly faster. It took me about one third of the time to load my files onto the new computer as it did to copy them from the old computer. A big improvement all around and so far working well.

IMHO - an intermediate home office computer that has started off working very well. This is my first HP product and I combined it with an Envy 7640 Wireless printer (purchased elsewhere) and both HP products have worked very well with my Chromebook and Google tablet. This has been a pretty good experience so far using Telus with about 2MB/s download speed over ethernet. Nice combo of storage and transfer abilities. No comment on gaming abilities. Pleasantly surprised - thanks HP and Best Buy.

  • from Calgary, AB

decent for working

if you are looking for a gaming pc dont go for any of the slimline models as they have no room for upgrades but if you are just looking for a pc for working on this should be fine
