- Extension cables add a lot of extra flexibility!- December 12, 2020
This Insignia 6' USB 3.0 extension cable has been working great! Many devices I use can be sensitive to having a poor quality or the wrong spec. These extensions have taken everything I've thrown at it flawlessly so far. Two ways I use these cables that can be hit and miss are my keyboard and camera. With both of these devices, I've had to be careful about what cables I use to directly connect them to the computer. I thought adding an extension cable might cause even my good cables to start to fail. However, I haven't had any problems and I get a lot more functionality out of these key devices.Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.
- works with webcam- May 21, 2020
During the COVID event of early 2020, webcams became very hard to find in stores. Luckily, I found a Logitech C270 at Target. Unfortunately, the cord was too short to reach from my monitor to my tower. This USB extension works with the C270. The camera is USB 2.0 and powered by USB cable. It has a relatively thick cord, so I think it should be able to send data and low power well. But personally, I would want to charge high power things through it since energy loss is proportional to length.Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.
- Fast as direct connection- December 26, 2020
I highly recommend as it a great cable at a nice price. I ran a speed test using a SSD pci-e external drive directly connected to USB 3.0 and then using this extension cable. The speeds were nearly identical (see attached pics). Just plug it in and go.... The cable is very thick and the connectors are very thick/beefy as well. The thickness of the cable does make it a tad difficult to manipulate but thats really nick picking.Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.
