- Excellent Value PurchaseVerified BuyerReviewed by JoesTV - November 20, 2021
Samsung tvs have been our number one brand for many years. However, we have needed a couple of smaller screens for secondary locations that we were unable to find in the Samsung product line up. Off brand models were never appealing to us because of the fear of purchasing something with inferior quality. I am pleased to say the Insignia brand (manufactured by Best Buy) has proven to be the exception to our apprehensions! Our most recent purchase is this 32 inch Insignia set. It’s the perfect size for a bedroom, and the sale price for the specs it offered made it easy to buy. It has 2 HDMI ports, 1 USB, and 1 Composite Video/Audio input. We’ve been using it for about a month now and we are pleased with the video quality, audio, and other features it offers. If you’re looking for a great value purchase I don’t know where you’ll get more and pay any less than with an Insignia model tv.

This is the smallest I would go for a bedroom TV personally. It has an HDMI port (actually 2) for my Amazon Fire Stick, and it is ok for a bedroom tv but I would not recommend this a living room unless the room is small. Maybe I’m spoiled by my 50 inch TV in the living room but this is OK for a bedroom TV. I find the screen to be a little blurry at times and very dark with some movies even if I adjust settings to ‘cool’ to lighten the screen. Should have looked for an edge-lit TV instead of this direct-lit which would have been crisper. Direct-lit are blurry and have more gray tones. This direct-lit LED is cheaper to make but ok for $99 and all I could afford at the time. Next time I’ll save for Full Array LED which is the crispest and best picture! There are so many different platforms movies, DVDs, tv shows, Fire TV, Hulu, cable, etc. are played on so in that case I guess the TV handles them all pretty well. The sound is ok but it’s hard to hear what actors/people are saying over the background noise and I’ve tried all the different settings including noise reduction which doesn’t really do anything. I’ll figure it out, but again $99 is good. I attached pics of some of the settings. I also saw that someone’s using this as a computer monitor which would be awesome too. All in all, it’s a pretty good TV for $99. Stay safe & God Bless America!

This is my favorite Christmas gift, hands down! I had an old 20" flat screen, tube-type Apex TV (CRT) wall-mounted in my home office. The picture was low-def, small and not easy-on-the-eyes. And the sound was terrible. PROS: This Insignia TV, at just a $99 sale price at Best Buy, is worth every cent, and a whole lot more! The picture is very good, especially considering it's just 720P. But, for its smaller 32" screen, 720P is quite acceptable. At factory mid settings, the picture seemed much too sharp, and too bluish. But lowering the sharpness and selecting the "warm" picture setting cured those issues. The sound? Honestly, I am seriously impressed! It's a true stereo output. The sound is full, with no buzzing or vibrations from the speaker enclosures. There are menu adjustments for all audio functions. I increased the bass quite a bit, while reducing the treble just a little. It's not home theater sound, of course, but really is very decent. This Insignia is 100% compatible with my Xfinity X1 account. The Xfinity remote is set to control all TV functions except the TV menu for picture and sound adjustments. CONS: When I first tested this TV it was near my TCL family room TV. When I turned it on with the remote, my TCL TV also turned on! I assumed the TCL and Insignia companies are related. Well, my TCL picture degrades a lot as you watch off-center. It shows loss of sharpness and contrast even when you're just a little off-center. I have it on a table swivel mount for that reason. Well, guess what! This Insignia's picture quality degrades just as much as my TCL's when you view off-center. Related to TCL? Guess so! I mounted this TV on an articulated wall mount, so I can always watch on-center. It worked very well. The off-center picture degradation (photo #2 & 3) is my one and only complaint, hence, 4 stars instead of 5.
