Great Display, Great Price

I have bought this display a few months ago, and it is working very well. There is a lot of confusion of how to use this monitor properly and as a result people are talking about "trap door effect" or "blurry edges" or such. To use this at 4K with correct settings as a monitor, you need the following set up. 1. Use HDMI 1 connection at 4:4:4 using an HDMI 2.0 cable (just look at the cable and see if it says "HIGH SPEED HDMI"). 2. In the settings within the monitor, you need to go to the main screen, settings (the asterisk button) > HDMI1 > HDMI Settings > HDMI 2.0 in order to make it run 4K at 60Hz. Of course, you need a video card that supports this. 3. Unfortunately, this monitor does post-processing on the image, including sharpening. Press asterisk on the remote to enter settings, and set Picture Mode to normal, picture size to Direct, Advanced Picture settings > Sharpness set to 0. It's this sharpness effect that causes a lot of colour distortion in images and even text, leading to confusion. That's it! This applies to the other size of this monitor too. For the price, it's been an amazing purchase and is working very well both for my PS4 and my PC.

Very disappointing product

I have had the 50 inch version of this TV for barely over a year and I already need to have a costly repair performed. The TV screen is black but the audio still works. I googled the problem, and it seems to be a VERY common occurrence with InsignIa TVs. I called Insignia support and they told me it's a problem with the backlight. Really disappointing to already have such a major problem with this TV after only a year, and I won't be buying an Insignia product again based on this purchase.

Remote broke quickly / customer support is horrible

The remote broke within about 2 months. After calling Insignia's tech support and troubleshooting with them, they said they would ship another one in a few days. After 2 weeks of not using the TV, I called back and their only answer was to keep waiting, that they haven't even shipped it out yet, and that it's somehow not in their control. I would have just ordered another remote had I known it would take them this long and I may do so now as they are still giving me no time frame. Other than that the TV seems to work fine.

Fake 4K

I bought this display to use as my computer monitor. I've been using a first gen 39" Seiki 4K TV as my monitor for the last 2 years. It's perfect except for the slight input delay (although it does 120hz at 1080p and is perfect for gaming at 1080). I decided to upgrade to something newer and a tad larger with this Insignia display. Unfortunately, it's what's known as "fake 4K". The image it displays has a screen door effect and nothing is truly sharp. I've tested both Windows 10 and Ubuntu 17.10 using a GTX 1050i. I've also tested an Xbox One S. I then downloaded a 4K sample video from and played it via a USB stick and the TVs built-in player. You can still see the screen door effect even at a few feet away. Text on a computer is hard to read due to the imperfect scaling. Just for reference, each HDMI input was manually set to HDMI 2.0 and the signal from the GTX 1050i was set to full 4:4:4 colour space and that issue still persisted.
