INSIGNIA tv

TV had no remote in box

Great TV for the price

Sound Quality is pretty good on the unit, easy setup and the image looks great. Was looking for a cheap 50 inch unit for the bedroom and when I saw this Insignia go on sale, I knew I had to buy it. I did get the extended warranty for peace of mind, but my last insignia TV I bought 7.5 years ago still works great. Buy the warranty if you're worried about the tv.

Great TV, but lacks a really basic function

Been using this TV for over a year now. When I finally decided to cut the cord, and go completely free with Over-the-Air television I found out that this TV set does not have a VERY basic function - a TV guide. Asked Insignia's tech support about it, was given mixed responses. Researching online, it seems to be a location thing. Only works in the US? It seems really weird to me that such an amazing TV set would lack such basic functionality. Even really cheap TVs with built-in digital tv turners have this, and this TV doesn't. Bummer...

Great TV, Great Price!

I will cross-post this on both sizes of this TV. I have bought this 50" display a few months ago, and it is working very well. There is a lot of confusion of how to use this monitor properly and as a result people are talking about "trap door effect" or "blurry edges" or such. To use this at 4K with correct settings as a monitor, you need the following set up. 1. Use HDMI 1 connection at 4:4:4 using an HDMI 2.0 cable (just look at the cable and see if it says "HIGH SPEED HDMI"). 2. In the settings within the monitor, you need to go to the main screen, settings (the asterisk button) > HDMI1 > HDMI Settings > HDMI 2.0 in order to make it run 4K at 60Hz. Of course, you need a video card that supports this. 3. Unfortunately, this monitor does post-processing on the image, including sharpening. Press asterisk on the remote to enter settings, and set Picture Mode to normal, picture size to Direct, Advanced Picture settings > Sharpness set to 0. It's this sharpness effect that causes a lot of colour distortion in images and even text, leading to confusion. That's it! This applies to the other size of this monitor too. For the price, it's been an amazing purchase and is working very well both for my PS4 and my PC.

Very impressed!

Most definitely one of Insignia's best TV to date, 4k is comparable to top shelf brand. I was surprised how good the quality was!

Great first 4K TV & excellent service/advice

I went into BB this past weekend looking to buy a brand name smart TV with cost and size being my main concerns. I was looking at a Toshiba on sale but after the floor associate gave me a better education on Smart TVs and 4K technology I was sold on the Insignia, a brand I would not have considered previously. The setup was super easy and fairly quick, the picture quality is stunning (as compared to an 11 year old plasma) and sound quality is fine as well. I am so far very positively impressed with this product and the sales associate gets full marks for a job well done!

Loved the Picture Quality - when it worked

Bought this Sept. 2017. Great picture, and very easy to use the remote. Easy set up too. Worked with Netflix all the time. I had the sound coming through my receiver with speakers. However, after 3 months, when you would turn on the tv, you would get snow instead of a picture. This would last from 3 - 15 min. intermittently. Sometimes the tv would work for a wk with no problem and sometimes it wouldn't. Called the cable company, thinking it was a problem with them, and it wasn't. Sometimes there would be a funny/odd sound emitting from the tv., sometimes the picture would skip for a nano second. Repair man said it was the motherboard. It took 2 full wks from the time I called Best Buy to register a repair to having the Warranty dept. review the claim and authorize the replacement of the tv. Store mgr was great about finding a replacement tv.

First experience with 4k it's a great tv with my internet connection i can't stream 4k but i hooked up my gaming pc and it is just stunning the tv when watching youtube and changing resolution does some strange artifacting but besides that it's great you can get netflix and youtube and all those but there is no straight internet so there is some limitations there.
