Worked for one year

Used to work 100% for a whole year, I was so happy with it and couldn't believe how cheap this machine was for how great it worked. Then , it broke. After only one year. I assumed it wouldn't last very long but only a year is pretty ridiculous .

Wow, this little machine works great! Small loads, but very quiet. Clothes come out rinsed very well and spun very well too. We bought this for our apartment to save from going to the laundry mat and we are quite happy with the results of this machine.

Great machine!! Worth more than every penny!

I have had this machine for nearly a year and it has already paid for itself! I live in an apartment and this little machine is perfectly quiet (except for the 5 beeps at the end of the wash). The options on it are so variable and unexpected for this size and price! I hope I am not jinxing myself but I have not had any of the problems I have read about. Not one in fact. The spin is amazing and certainly helps with drying things on a clothes rack to save even more money. I often only need to wash my clothing on the “rapid” cycle (19mins), using cold water. Cleans like a charm. I can easily fit one or two pair of pants and a few tops in one load. I highly recommend this machine!! Seriously, so glad I saved up for it; one of the best buys (ha!) I have made in years! So worth it! The only thing I wish is there was a small partner dryer (in this price range and quality) to go with it!

Spinner is too hard on machine

I ordered this machine last year and the screws all came out. I had to go to Best Buy and they ordered me a new one. I have had it a few months and one screw came out again from underneath the washer. It spins so hard, it makes no sense. Again I'm afraid to continue using the washer for fear all the screws will come out. I am very disappointed in the washer. It was handy for underwear and socks, facecloths, and light tops. But it is falling apart again. Why does it have to spin to the extreme? It would last if it was not for this defect in the machine. I am very upset and feel disappointed in this small portable washer.

Great! Worth the Price

Works excellent! It has been four years since I bought it, and it still works. The size is enough for a size of three family.

I bought a insignia washer last june 2017 and worked good up until april 2018 when it started to pour out water from underneath and the countdown for wash cycle would stop at 29 mins and water would not stop. I called insignia regarding any warranty for the machine, they directed me to call best buy and I called them and they told me to bring in washer. I brought washer into store at argentia and Winston Churchill and they were great no hassles and to top it off, they replaced it for free and had delivered to my home. great job guys :)

It pays for itself

The best little washer for a single person in an apartment. The drum is about one third the size of a regular machine, so for a single person with small loads it's perfect. It will accommodate one full set of sheets, and then you hang them to dry on your shower rod in the bathroom. The spin cycle is very efficient and the clothing dries very quickly after hanging them. It has multiple cycles and a lint catcher. I'm in love with this little washer. It pays for itself.

waste of money

when it spins it jumps all over the place and goes back to start

no warranty none in store in all of Quebec

i was looking to buy this item but there are really scary reviews on and off the site like very loud noise leaking hose dancing around the floor.... so its not cool that there is no available warranty for this product... are you not backing up what you sell? and there is no demo in all of Quebec Province. so i skip on this purchase for all these reasons if you can fix this like add a warranty and such buy best buy in store will buy this item.

loud but works good

I got the warranty on this just in case. It looks like I probably won't need it. Works well, and gets things clean! The only complaint I have is that the spinner is way too loud. I'm scared my neighbors are going to complain. It sounds like someone is jack hammering on the wall next to me. This lasts anywhere from two minutes to four minutes depending on what cycle. I've managed to find a setting that works for me. I put it on the soaking setting, and set the spinner cycle to 1. Luckily this reduces the "Jack Hammer" sound time to one minute at the end of its cycle. I've adjusted the foot pedal, tried to put foot silencers on, and measured perfectly inside to make sure everything is where its supposed to be. Tried everything, but it still makes LOUD noises. I think the spinner is going so fast that it bangs against its walls violently. I hope my apartment neighbors can deal with this for years to come twice every week lol. Is there any way I can adjust the spinner's speed? That would be probably the best, but I am no mechanic.

  • from New Westminster, BC

Portable headache.

Never buy this garbage. At first the machine works well, but when comes to spin cycle it begins to jump and ride, and then returns to the previous washing cycle. We can't start washing and relax. Buy it washer only if you do not mind your time and nerves.

irresponsible bestbuy ( negative point for bestbuy online)

I ordered this item online and it was supposed to be delivered after 3 days, but the item is still not delivered after 15 days and no one at best buy customer service is answering what's going on. If it's not in the stock available why do they sell it and make inconvenience for the clients which results in decreasing their credit. And the customer service people of best buy are like machines just sending automated drafted responses, which means they are even not reading the emails. I recommend trying other websites rather than Bestbuy for online purchase.

no warranty ???

I would like to have a warranty for this item. When I bought it online from my cellphone I did not see this option.

Good choice but very bad delivery with Purolator

this machine is very awesome, we have been using it for a month, it's easy to install and use, very quiet. for the space we have this was the only washer machine which can fit, i would like to buy the 1.6 but for just 3/4 cm in height was not able to put it in the kitchen. it's not heavy, very easy to move. the load that you can put inside is not too much but what i really like that we can use speed wash function which it takes 17 minutes and it really wash very well, like that instead to wash with normal function 30 minutes we are able to wash several time for 17 minutes every time. Purolator has really a bad service, i called them twice telling them that i'm available at home from 5pm to 8pm but they didn't care about my call and they come 2 times at 14:30 were nobody was at home and they left me a paper, at the end i had to go to pick it up by myself.

Great little product

Works really well, compact and light enough to carry to the sink with the option of regular hookups. Best part was the next day delivery from best buy i was pretty shocked to have it at my door the next day considering i live in a rural area! Thanks

  • from Brantford, ON

Nice little washing machine

Does the job nicely. I had to return/exchange the first one as it leaked out of the bottom on arrival. Quick relatively painless process taking the washer into the store, new one arrived 2 days later. Very small loads, not load (other than the end beeps or if you open the top/press buttons). you can customize the cycles, giving longer wash time, more rinses or more spin time. built in lint trap is nice. very light.

INSIGNIA .9 Washing machine

Very impressed

This washer is awesome! Saves money to students, makes mama happy in RV, you just put laundry in, push button, and on the way to rocking chair. Ha :-) Very quiet !!! As I said "It's awesome"

  • from Georgetown, on

Works well, but drain hose is flimsy and I have to elastisize it to the water intake hold or it will flip out onto floor and cause flood. Also now spin cycle drum makes a very loud noise when spin cycle is going, load is not uneven but very noisy

  • from Brantford, ON

When I received this machine I was disappointed - it was not new and had a screw floating around in the washer drum - this was the screw for the bottom dust cover that I thought was missing - but I found it hidden in garbage paper in the box. I was very disappointed and phoned Best Buy and spoke to Chris. He said that he was sorry and would take off 10%. I said o.k. as I am a senior lady and have no way to get this washer over to Best Buy or to a Purolator Office. I plugged in the washer and it worked well. I have done about 10 loads and am happy with it. I only do small loads as there is only myself and my wee doggie. I am happy to get 10% off but am disappointed that it wasn't new. It has worked well so far and I am happy. Would give a better 'overall rating' but not happy with how Best Buy does business.

You get your money worth!

In the end, you get what you pay for. With that in mind, I should rate it a 5. We have had ours for almost 2 years now and it arrived as new, not used. It has saved us a lot of water and electricity! We are now having issues with the internal water valve. Do I pay for a repair service or replace it? I may fix it myself to save money, which was the intent anyway. YES! the cloths are spun so vary well and they are dry in a short time.

Not a new unit as purchased

I purchased this online and was sent a machine that was either reconditioned or used then repackaged. It was dirty.

Perfect for Apt

Perfect load size, easy to set up, and work well so far.

  • from Oshawa

Was hesitant to purchase because of previous reviews. I'm glad i went with my gut instinct and purchased. It's a great machine for its size, washes clothes and removes all stains. With the spin cycle, the clothes come out extremely dry, which I then hang dry overnight and by morning they are dry. It can hold about 5 shirts and 5 pants and a few smaller items, on the largest load. Can wash sheets, and other bigger items as well. Purchased it from bestbuy Oshawa. Had such a positive experience while purchasing, employees were so helpful and explained in detail from start to finish on how to assemble and operate. Bought the extended warranty Incase anything were to happen. Glad I did for ease of mind. I highly recommend this to anyone who has to make trips to the laundromat. Easy and fast set up. Already comes with universal faucet adaptor. Go out and purchase, you will not regret it!!!!!!!!

  • from Mississauga, ON

Worked well for 42 days

bought it 42 days ago, it worked fine, although very small tub.. so it takes a long time to do a few loads of laundry. Now, it does not spin after only 42 days. I tried many times - with clothes inside - empty - nothing spins :( Terrible purchase !!!!!

  • from Sydney, NS

Update. Not good

Have had washer about six weeks. Starting to leak. Do not buy. As I said in previous review hoses are cheap and hard to get level

  • from Saint Catharines, ON

At first it was good, but after one month use it starts leaking water everywhere. And bestbuy said they will not be responsible for it since it has been delivered over 30 days. When I tried to call the instructor INSIGINIA,their agent just transfer me to bestbuy line again.AND in the end they just transfer you to the other but no one is actually helping. Conclusion:if you are lucky, you can use it for couple months. But if you are not, then none of them will help you! They did not care about their customer after you wasted your money.

  • from Saint Catharines, ON

use for one month and already start to leaking water everywhere and terrible service

I bought this last month.Firstly I thought it could save me from expensive laundry cost (although this machine is expensive too) ,but after only a month ,it started leaking water and do not drain completely . I tried to contact the insignia but the man on the phone is useless. He can not find anything with this machine so that he can not help me at all.THEN he suggested me to contact bestbuy. Funny thing is I contact bestbuy and they ask me to contact insignia, and after I told them insignia can not solve my problem ,they ask me to contact with geek square.Geek square then said it is not their business so transfer me back to warranty line.....AT THE END,NO ONE COME TO SOLVE MY PROBLEM!!! Now I am going to one of those stores hoping someone can truly serve their customer.Otherwise I will return it. Don't waste your time and money on this brand and bestbuy,go somewhere else.

small size

This one was very small in size !

  • from Sydney, NS

so so

it is not bad but i don't think it will last long. the hoses are made of cheap material. it is small so most would be better off getting the next size up.instructions are not very good. also only one leg can be leveled and almost impossible to get done. i had to put felt slider pads on and double up on one side to get the machine level

  • from Renfrew, ON

I purchased this washer based on the fine reviews. My washer was a dud right out of the box. Malfunctioned at the 'fill' portion of the first wash cycle leading to massive overflow of the tub out onto the laundry room floor. Quite a nightmare trying to get the full tub to drain as there is no drain selection on controls. Never did get to evaluate a wash or spin dry or any other part of the wash/dry cycle because they don't kick in until the fill is done....which never happened on mine. I'm assuming I just was unlucky on this particular purchase and that these machines are not all like this one. Returned to Best Buy the next day. Return process was easy and satisfactory. I won't be re-ordering this machine.

  • from Victoria, BC

Not dependable

I was able to do only a few loads before it stopped working the machine kept on filling with water and emptying water at the 17 minute mark where it would stand still and run water continuously until it got turned off I took it back and got a credit but like many other people I don't want to buy another of the same brand.

Good Little Launderizer

I purchased this in December and have waited to write the review to have a few months of use under my belt - early reviews sometimes miss problems that develop later. I must say that I think this is a great machine, it's fairly portable and does a good job of getting the clothes clean, though there is a trial-and-error process to work out just how much detergent is correct. The spin cycle gets almost all of the water out, which is just as well since I use a drying rack to dry the laundry. I have noticed a couple of things. The machine really does not like different-sized laundry (like towels and face cloths together, for example)--that's about the only time it tries to walk across the room. Also, it seems sensitive to where it's located. I think the complaints about noise and vibration may be about 50% odd-sized stuff in the barrel and 50% floors that aren't quite up to a vibrating machine with spinning parts full of water on them. The one thing that does kind of irk me is that the output hose does not always want to stay where I put it. It's leapt out of the sink a couple of times, though fortunately I've managed to catch it when it's only had a chance to spit about a cup full of water on the floor.

ONLY 2 WHEELS in the back

WARNING: If you think this is like the old washers ITS NOT. only 2 wheels (on the back) and the exhaust hose is flimsy and basically not what i'm used to at all. Most of all, it is very small. Although it works, your clothes will end up tangled in a big ball. If i can return this thing I will. I'd rather have an older model that is actually what it says it is; PORTABLE.

I like that but i retren becoz of size it was too small for my family ..

Used and/or Refurbished

The washer came used, very dirty and damage. I returned the product immediately.

  • from North Vancouver

I purchased this machine and I was under the impression to simply try it. My better half was demanding it is misuse of cash and time yet I got it at any rate! Extremely happy with the quality and execution and how clean washes the clothes. It is very quite and we are to a great degree content with it. Highly recommended for small families.

  • from Sault Ste. Marie, ON

washing machine is perfect

l have no problems with this washer it is quiet compact and has different levels of power for wash also levels of water. Just one problem that I fixed l put a board on wheels under the washer so l could move the washer around the kitchen easier. The price was very affordable.

  • from Edmonton, AB

I expected a new washer, but I got a used one

The washer is good for a small home, but I waited a week for it to be delivered to my place. When it arrived, I found out the washer looked used coming out of the box with lots of dirty hand prints, yellow water stains, a scratched control panel, and the plastic bag was opened. I shouldn`t be charged full price for a used product. Very disappointed.

  • from toronto,ont

The best portable Washer

Bought this to use in my apartment it looks tiny but can hold good loads its just what i needed.

  • from Hamilton, ON

Very good little washer

I bought it two weeks ago and have used it a couple of times washes clothes well perfect for small size places and very quiet and efficient for the price compared to large size machines. The two drawbacks are the manual is a little confusing with steps not in proper order and no instructions of knowing if fabric softener can be used as like in Large machines, other then that lightweight, easy to use and works well for small loads. Would recommend for small apts. and small families
