- Does not support ARC and HDR- January 10, 2019
This cable causes all HDMI ARC devices on my setup to fail to pass audio and HDMI-CEC even to devices not attached to this cable. This was both on my Denon AVR and on a soundbar. So I verified that on two separate systems. Also, this cable fails to pass HDR signals to two different display panels when paired with an AMD GTX 1070. I was able to order a different DisplayPort to HDMI adapter that worked fine for ARC and HDR display. So it is not a limitation of DisplayPort technology. For the price of the cable I was disappointed in the performance. If you have HDR displays or ARC audio receivers this is not a good cable. It may be fine for sub 4K displays and non-advanced audio. No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
- WORKS AS INTENDED!!!- December 7, 2018
So I was looking for an adapter at first! Don't bother! I went down that route and the adapters don't work! It's a higher price for the cable but for good reason! I bought a EVGA RTX 2080 Ti and my monitors are older. They only use HDMI or DVI and unfortunately the GPU only had one port for HDMI. So I needed a cable that could convert the single from my monitor which was HDMI to Display Port. This cable worked without a hitch! Save yourself the aggravation to return a "cheaper" adapter that doesn't convert the video signal at all and just shell out for this cable! You'll thank me later!Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.
- Corded to see- August 15, 2020
Ok, another pandemic purchase. I am certain my buying is stimulating the economy. At my traditional worksite, I don't need all of these fixes. But now driven into permanent telework status, I discovered just all of the flaws of company systems. My work laptop does not have an HDMI port! But oh, that makes it thinner and easier to transport. LIES! If I am tethered down with numerous cords to gain basic functionality, how is that easier??!? I would rather gain arm strength with 1, 2 pounds more than risk tripping over all of the adaptive elements needed. ARGH! This cord worked well and gave me a clear image on my connected monitor. As it was not terribly costly, another good investment.Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.
