Don't buy this tv

I should've known better than buying an insignia product. This item fell apart and stopped turning on all together after six months worth of use.

Good, but not great

The TV is easy to set up, has a very good color and definition, but the sound is not great. It lacks some more advanced functions to adjust sound and image. The remote control is very basic, with very limited functionality, and the lack of a channel keypad is really boring. Overall, a good TV for the price I paid.

Nice tv shame about the remote control.

I found the box to be larger than expected, which blocked my view of the road when I brought this tv home on my bicycle. Set up was ok just answer a few questions and for future buyers have your internet access ready. good price on a 3 day sales event. The remote sucks, limited functionality.

Excellent achat

Très bon achat, l'écran est très grand car je suis passé d'une télé 28 pouces à celle-ci. Le son est excellent et je porte des prothèses auditives. L'image est vraiment belle et tout est simple à configuré. Je passe des heures sur mon ordinateur alors j'ai trouvé le processus très simple. Elle est maintenant accrochée au mur et je l'aime vraiment beaucoup. Je la recommande à tous.

Stay away

Great overall TV, but some limitations

Puchased this TV recently for the cottage via a one day flash sale at an awesome price. Fairly easy to set up, good color, decent sound but not great. To get better sound, the unit has a digital audio output, but no audio component (RCA type) outputs. However the work around for this s to use the headphone jack if you want to transmit the sound from your existing stereo sound system. Good that there are 3 HDMI inputs and one USB port. The remote control is basically a roku remote, with very limited functionality. The most obvious deficiency is the lack of a channel number keypad, which is why i gave this TV a 4 rating instead of 5. Anyone trying to cut the cord with cable and use OTA antenna will be disappointed that you cannot outright select a channel by the keypad, a big no no and bad oversight by Insignia. Otherwise, great TV for the price and most of its features.

Very Good TV

This is a great TV for the price. i bought it on sale i am totally enjoying it! The sound is good, the colours is good (some times you can see that black colors are not perfect but it does not bother me). Easy set up and easy controls! Worth the money!

Excellent TV

The setup is easy, connects to our wifi network and our Bell Fibe network. Very good image quality and sound is very good as well. Was delivered prompty and without a hitch. We are very happy with our decision to buy this unit.

Great TV

Bought one last September (2016)...Ordered two more today

Originall Post from Sept, 2016... "Purchased online during a special 1 day sale. It arrived at the door the following Tuesday morning (had ordered it Friday night). Easy to set up. Works great. Had thought I'd need to add a sound bar to get decent/ loud enough audio but nope, the standard speaker is all I need. Now seriously considering getting a second, though smaller one, for use out in my workshop as well for watching YouTube, Netflix etc." Noticed it went on sale today as another 1 day "Flash Sale"...so we ordered two more of them. One more for ourselves, one for my better half's twin sister and her family.

Pretty good for the price.

It was not available in the store but it only took a couple of days to come in. I asked for it to be delivered to the store in the event that there was any damage, there would be no question of my doing it. Sure enough there was damage to the packaging and I asked them to open it to check for damages. Luckily there were no visible damages to the TV so I accepted it with the understanding that if there were issues after installation that I would be calling them. It was pretty easy to set up and has been working great for the three weeks we've had it. After making some changes to the picture settings it looks real good and the sound is OK too. Using it for the bedroom so sound quality not overly important. Having the apps built in is nice, and there are a lot of other apps available for free. Would be nice if it was set up with a web browser. Overall good for the price.

First Smart TV- Setup super easy

For customers not planning on getting cable this is a great option. No cords or wires. TV just plugs in and connects wirelessly to your router. I have basic high speed internet and have had no issues with delay/connecting etc. When you turn on the TV it walks you through the setup process which only took a few minutes. Hooked right up to my Netflix account and the Android mirroring function to my phone was super easy too. I was able to stream shows from my phone to the TV right away and with pretty good resolution. (make sure your phone is set up to rotate so that you can achieve full screen otherwise it will be 3/4" sized on your TV- this took me a minute to figure out) One thing to note, my husband and I both have Android phones but Mac laptops... roku doesnt work with Mac so if you only use Mac/Iphone the streaming function wont work for you (unless there is a way around this?) Overall super happy- picture is great and the design of the TV and stand itself is super sleek. Happy Happy.

Great Value if on sale

I honestly have no real issues with this TV. It looks great, works great, and was a great value. My only thing I would mention is the turn on time. When you press the on button, it does take time to come on and then find any cable box hooked up to it. I've never experienced that before so it is quite noticeable. Does it effect my watching TV much, no not at all.... Just something to mention.

good buy

Good price, quality and features. Very easy to use. Entire family can use all features (youtube, Netflix, Spotify, plex). Was expecting a wired internet connection but it only has wifi. This was not great until I gave the TV priority on the wireless router. After that it has worked flawlessly. Was also hoping for RCA audio outputs to feed the stereo. The only output is optical. Built in audio is ok but would like better when playing Spotify.

Very happy

I'm very happy with my Smart TV. It arrived super fast, was easy to set up and has nice colours. It took me awhile to find the volume buttons on the side of the remote, but everything works like it should.

Solid TV

This was purchased as a second TV for our basement, usually used while working out. Fits the bill, sound is fine, picture quality more than acceptable considering the price. Totally satisfied other than you have to turn it on twice. It comes on fine and when you accept the cable box it goes there fine. After 5 minutes tho it starts up all over again and you have to accept the cable box again. It stays on the second time.

Great TV

Great TV! Blacks are not that good sometimes, but nothing to complain about. This TV works just as good as more expensive brand TVs. I'm very happy that I bought this one. I don't regret not buying a brand name at all. Picture quality, sound, and remote are all great.

More than a good deal for the money spent...

Got this TV as the Christmas special, with the free shipping. It is worth every penny. Very good picture quality (not the best, but I paid it just 370 bucks, so no complaints in this dept), easy streaming from the web, very easy to use remote, you might just make picture less bright, factory reset was for me to bright... You have to log to Roku site to add apps for internet TV, for some apps you don't need the code, just type in the name (p.s. - make sure not to leave them your credit card info, this is just optional choice with registration- unless you really want to by some apps)... Remote is very easy to use. It got game mode, in the picture setup, so is good for gaming too. For some reason my sound system (it is very old) didn't work with TV via optic cable, but than I figured out that integrated TV sound is more than adequate (loud and clear, with various modes) so I got rid of my old sound system, which gave me much more space around TV stand (and got rid of annoying cabling too). Delivery of TV was little delayed, but understandable, due to holidays rush- only didn't like the updates on Purolator tracking site- was kinda sloppy and late... In total, I am very happy with the new TV and I would recommend it to other people that don't have to high expectations, and don't suffer from the "brand syndrome"...

Great TV

I guess this tv works just as good as the more expensive brand names. The blacks aren't that good, but nothing to complain about. The sound and remote are also fine. In terms of picture and sound quality you won't feel a thing, but sometimes scrolling between the smart functions, apps, etc., can remind you that this is not a brand name, as scrolling can be a bit slow. I'm not sure though, maybe all smart TVs are a bit slow when it comes to toggling between apps. Overall, I really like TV and do not regret not buying a more famous and more expensive TV at all!

Low Quality Buy

Definitely a "get what you pay for" buy. The sound is extremely lacking, takes a long time to load up once you turn it on, and the legs are very awkwardly positioned (unless you have a 48" wide table to put it on, it makes life difficult. Picture quality is alright. Easy set up overall, except you do have to go online to Roku.com, and set it up with the Roku channels and such. Decent TV for the price.

Very Impressed

I purchased this TV online when it was on sale over Christmas. It arrived with no issues and I'm completely impressed. Delivery issue- misleading info on order status page

I can't rate TV yet, because at present time BestBuy is failing to deliver it at scheduled date (TV was purchased online 5 days ago), that review will come later when (if) I get in possession of my TV set. I have a problem with the misleading info on my "order status page", which says that order is fulfilled and that item was transferred to Purolator two days ago, and shipped to me... Which is not the case. BestBuy provided me with Purolator tracking code, once they updated the order status to "shipped", which indicates that delivery Co. is in a possession of my purchase. I attempted online tracking on Purolator page for last two days, to be informed that item is not in their system. After three contacts with Purolator agent, I found that item is still in BestBuy custody. At last, this morning Purolator created the "shipping label" (my guess would be that it was done by paperwork exchange with BB), but they were very positive that item was not given to them. In same time BB status page shows that item was shipped via Purolator 2 days ago. Then I contacted short time ago BB customer service, which admitted that item is still in their warehouse, and that it may take couple more days to be delivered to me. The problems I have with such BB delivery issue are: 1. The misleading info on status page, that states that product is shipped, when that is not the case, 2. Misleading delivery date, which made me to reschedule my private business in order to accept this "phantom delivery". I do understand that at this time of the year, delivery could be an issue, but I would expect from BB at least to provide correct info on their order status page, and for the delivery date to be realistic (not optimistic) even if that means a couple days delay. On the top of that- customer service is not much helpful because they cannot intervene in this issue- all they can do is to read their "online status". This misleading delivery issue affected my private schedule, and wasted my valuable time, because I was forced to hang for hours in chat rooms and on the phone lines, to accomplish nothing at the end. P.S. I was very descriptive here, in case some customers would have to deal with the same issue in the future. Lesson to be learned- don't waste your time with BB customer service, because even if they want to help you, they have no resources to do so...

Bigger than you think...

I have only had this TV a few days , but my experience so far ... I ordered online and was told it would be up to 8 days to ship ,but it arrived in 4...bonus !. It said I would be billed when it was delivered...was billed the next day before the TV even left..tisk tisk . The ad claimed it was an easy set up...understatement ... it was the easiest electronic device I ever set up !, clever indeed !. When it arrived this GIANT was definitely a surprise indeed ,seeing I got it at a screaming deal!... but I had something a touch larger than a 43" in my head...wow...this thing was far far bigger than I anticipated . I may only sit 7 feet from the screen ,but man...it's as good as billed . Don't hesitate to buy this TV , it's a great deal even not on sale !.

Nice TV with Very neat Roku player

Setup was easy, and all the features are working as expected. We are using it for online viewing, namely youtube and Roku. netflix is there too, but we don't use it at all. The best feature is the builtin Roku, which gives us the ability to watch any online video, casting it from their mobile app. It is so awsome to go to any sites that has a video on the page and cast it to the TV. TV picks up that video and you watch it on the big screen. That being said keep in mind that if you cast a tiny video to the TV it will look awful. Otherwise we like the TV, it is easy to use it is on automatic update

Decent product for its price

It doesn't provide a great picture quality and the slowness of the firmware can be irritating sometimes, but you'll get what you'll pay for. If you need a Smart TV and don't want to spend big money in it, I'd definitely recommend.

Amazing Value!

Great for the price

I bought this during the Cyber Monday sale and I couldn't be happier with the purchase. We had a spare room in which I didn't want to put a cable box. This tv allows the kids to enjoy YouTube and Netflix without buying Apple TV or something else. The quality is great as is the sound. I don't know if I would buy the same for full price, but on sale it is a deal!

Great purchase for great value!

I purchased this during the Black Friday sale and I have to say that I'm glad I made this purchase! It's a sleek design with crystal clear image and great sound quality too. The only down side is I sometimes feel it takes a few second to turn on but that could just be me. Extremely happy with the purchase. - if you're doing free shipping it won't get delivered. Myself and a couple of other people I know have experienced this. They just leave the slip saying they were there and they leave.

Great buy !!!

Purchased this television in pre Black Friday sale at a great price. We wanted one with built in ROKU. Easy to set up (seniors) , Great picture. The only downfall is inconsistancy in sound when watching a programme, we are continually altering the volume up and down.......from volume 10 up to 40 + .....WE read this is a problem with this tv.........we have a smaller tv in the bedroom,different make with built in ROKU and have no volume problems. Other wise a great tv at an amazing price, We love it.

Works for me.....

I purchased the Insignia 48" 1080p HD LED Roku Smart TV on Cyber Monday. While it's too early to speak in terms of longevity ... On Cyber Monday I received a GREAT price plus FREE delivery.....! Free is good...! Thank you Best Buy... For a Moderately priced Smart TV, sold at a rock bottom price. It has a decent picture....Lots of great features...... great connectivity...... easy operation..... I'm very pleased at this stage.... About the only thing that could make things better Is if it has staying power and a doob.......:) Can recommend...... so far

Had it for a week before returning.

TV is good all in all... Does what is advertised. But when moving to a different angle.. The picture quality and contrast go down a lot. Sit directly in front if you buy this. Any more than 3 feet this way or that way and it loses quality and contrast.

Great product

This is actual our first Smart TV and we are so happy about the choice, and because of the great deal on price. We're very please with the Roku TV future on in. The sound of TV is awesome, like a Home Theater incorporated. The adjusting "Screen" future is also a plus. We recommend the TV! =) =)

Not impressed

Bought it couple of weeks ago and returning it tomorrow. I found OS to be too slow and main apps like Netflix etc are buggy at times. Also it makes weird wheezing sound even after turning it off. Not happy overall so will return tomorrow.
