D-Pad is awful

As others have stated, the D-Pad is terrible on this. NES games require some serious input accuracy, and playing Mega Man 2 with this thing is impossible. Wish I could return it, but didn't keep the receipt.

Great Alternative!

The controller works great! Finding an actual Nintendo brand controller was nearly impossible. This is a great alternative and reasonably priced.

The d-pad is twice as high off the base of the controller as the Nintendo brand. This causes thumb aches after prolonged use. Also, directionality of the d-pad is finicky and switches too easily causing frequent input errors. For example it is common while pushing the d-pad right to suddenly trigger the "up" direction (while still pressing right). The buttons are noisier too.

Good alternative to purchasing a replacement cable

For a little bit more than the cost of the cable, I purchased this gamepad. Much better control and gaming, not to mention the longer cord helps quite a bit. NIntendo, what were you thinking giving us a 3 ft cord?

Not great...there are better options.

Picked up this controller to see if it would be a good alternative for my NES Classic. While the cord length is nice, the D-pad and buttons are not accurately responsive. Especially the D-pad as pressing left or right can at many times send a signal to go down. I think it comes down do the way the D-pad hits the internal circuit board, looks like it was constructed poorly.

Works as promised

Controller works great with no lag time. Comfort is great and the 10 foot cable is perfect for my living room!!

A proper length

This Controller works great and has the exact same dimensions as the original plus a 10ft cord making it much nicer to use.

Great option with a long cord.

The 10 foot cord is excellent when you don't have a long HDMI cable. Controller is the same size/shape as the NES controller that comes with the classic. The directional pad is slightly raised but is not noticeably different. The first one I purchased the d-pad worked great for the first couple of days however something happened and it would randomly change direction (when scrolling right or left it would go up). This happened both during game play and on the menu screen when moving between games. Hours of play in on the replacement and it's working great!

Directional Pad problem

The long cord is fantastic and the contoller worked great the first day. Now the directional pad is wonky. When I'm in games moving left or right it randomly goes up and if I'm going up it will go sideways. This also happens on the menu screen when scrolling between games and it will jump up to the settings, etc at the top.

Not great...there are better options.

Tried this on my NES Classic. First off, when you hold it, you can instantly tell it is not good quality. It feels very light and flimsy. The cord is long, which is better than the NES Classic's stock controller. That said, the D pad is awful on this. It's not accurate in that when pressing either left or right, many times it'll tend to want to register the up direction. Very annoying when playing a game. I ended up returning both that I purchased.

Solid controller

The Insignia NES Classic Wired controller is a good controller. It's the exact same dimensions as the Nintendo brand classic controller and has the same quality feel to it as well. Solid construction and the massive 10 foot cord (probably even a little too long) are the big perks to this device. The only downside is that the directional pad is a little less responsive than the Nintendo brand controllers. It's fine, but could be a problem for games like Tetris or Dr. Mario where precision is important.

better than the one that comes with the NES Classic, nice 10 foot cord so your not huddling around the system. the controller also feels bigger and more comfortable the the one that come with the system.
