Fun Toy

Exactly as described. It is a cardboard V.R. viewer. If you have a compatible phone you are able to take advantage of a basic V.R. experience. Set up is as easy as downloading an app on your phone, and scanning the Q.R code printed on the viewer. Get immersed without breaking the bank. I have older relatives that can not walk up the stairs to my apartment. By taking sphere photos in google, I have been able to give them a virtual tour of my home. I send them updates of my adventures, and they are able to get a better feel for where I am and what I am up to. They think its great, and was a perfect gift for them.

Fun little toy for curious minds.

Got this as holiday gift and started downloading few apps from appstore specially google street view VR app. Simple enough instructions to follow and worked very fine with iphone6. it has nice sturdy cardboard box with a click button to select things during VR view. May be its dangerous it should have a some head band to tie it around head.

Good for the price

This product is good especially if you can get it when it's on sale. The product is built great and feels sturdy. I did like how the part where your nose and forehead rest has foam, it makes using this product very comfortable. I was using an iPhone 6s which has a PPI of 326 so content on the display when being viewed was not very clear but your experience will very depending on what device you use with this product. I downloaded the Google Cardboard app which has some cool demos and it gives a list of apps that can take advantage of Google Cardboard. If you wanting to step into the world of Virtual Reality but you don't want to spend hundreds of dollars this is a great option.

Great starter vr headset with a few minor problems

Great headset almost no complaints. It even works with glasses😀. If the buttons on your phone stick out ex. Samsung phones, it is a bit hard to put the phone into the vr headset properly. If you put your phone in too tight, it will press the buttons. If you have an apple phone, then you should be fine. Samsung phones are a bit of a problem

One of the best Cardboard VR options. PERIOD!

Though Insignia might be Best Buy's store brand, don't go thinking that this unit is a write off. Not only is it constructed of excellent quality, but the forehead and nose bands make this very comfortable to wear for extended periods and absorb sweat to improve its durability. Image quality is spectacular too (well, at least from what you can expect from an entry level device). To meet the "Works with Google Cardboard" certification, it does not include a headband. That said, I used masking tape to attach it on to the belt of an old shower robe and tied it around my head and it works flawlessly. Granted, this option does reduce the comfort slightly, but the increased immersion more than makes up for it. In short, get it. If it is on sale, then GET IT!!!

Nice little unit

Had it one day now. Nice little unit. The lenses are clear. It works as advertised. I'd recommend you pick one up when they are on sale. Some quick setup notes: 1. Download google cardboard from the app store 2. It'll ask you to take a picture of the barcode on this device to auto-setup. 3. Play! The button basically causes a screen press on your device, that is how you interact. Your device must have a gyroscope if you want to interact (i.e. look left and right, up and down etc). If you're not sure if your phone will work with this, start by downloading google cardboard. Without the viewer you will see 2 screens, but you can still see what's going on. Pivot your phone and if it reacts, you're good to go! Another note, about the quality of your phone's display. I tried this on an older phone with a display of 320 pixels per inch (ppi). I could see the pixel grid (red, green yellow dots) when I had the viewer on. But on phones with 415ppi it was a clear image. In both cases it worked, but the higher pixel density made for a more immersive experience.

Great value, and...

Easy to modify. Added a head strap and cut a hole for the camera with no problem. The only issue is the button and how it relies on a fold in the cardboard to reset it's position. Again though, easily modified with a spring. Works amazing, and the lenses are held in without tabs like on many other cardboard headsets.

Great value

Within 5 minutes I was enjoying a roller coaster ride! Easy to use and an amazing value for the fun it gave me. This is a great starter VR device to see if this is something you'd be interested in.
