Insignia Portable Air Conditioner - 8000 BTU - White/Grey - Only at Best Buy
- This is absolute trash. Made room hotter!
from Kitchener on July 28, 2019
This is garbage. It literally made the room Hotter! My poor older dad had to sweat his guts out all night until the Best Buy opened for me to exchange it. I’m so annoyed. Terrible.

Bought this 1 month back from Coventry location and now it heats the room up instead of cooling. Just garbage for 340 dollars. I tried to contact the company for replacement but no use. was never expecting this from BestBuy. please don't waste your money on these. I am really disappointed with this product best buy. will never trust your products.

Good unit for an average space.
- Nice and Cool

This air conditioner is quite small but it keeps your area nice and cool. It's also very easy to set up and connect the tube.
- Remove the box and plug it in!
from Mississauga, ON on July 8, 2019
This unit could not be easier to set up and operate! The makers of this product really had the consumer in mind. I cut the straps holding the box around it, slid off the box then used the plastic packaging that came with the unit and some packing tape to seal off the window screen and it was up and running in less than 30 minutes. I loved how the unit was ready to go with the casters already on the bottom. The only assembly is twisting the ventilation hose onto the back and into the frame on the window screen which was super quick. There is no bucket to empty and not terribly noisy to operate. If you want easy set up and a cool living space this AC is a great choice!

- Noisy and weak
from Kitchener on July 5, 2019
It's a budget cooler, you'll know immediately where they cut costs. 1) It's not 8000 BCU. Apparently actual bcu's are measured differently for portable ACs, and this one is barely 5000 from what it feels. Worked in my small bedroom for many hours and barely got it to 22 degrees 2) Noisy. Beware - putting in where you sleep will ruin your sleep. Buy some ear plugs with it!! 3) Leaking liquid. Not too much, but could cause a problem for your floor
- Excellent Small-Room Air Conditioner
from Richmond, BC on July 4, 2019
I'm using it right now! It's an excellent piece of equipment that is significantly cooling down my 50 sq ft bedroom. The difference in temperature was noticeable in a few minutes. It runs loud, so be forewarned that the compressor on this baby sacrifices convenience for cost-effectiveness. You'll KNOW the fan is spinning, and the compressor has a rattle to it like a bike chain that is being cross-geared. That being said, I would wholeheartedly recommend this unit in smaller communal spaces and bedrooms where, like me, noise doesn't bother you because you sleep like a drunk bear hit with a tranquilizer! The controls are simple to utilize, and readouts are clear, and it appears reliable. Good purchase for me.
- Huge noise

I bought danby 14000bpu and insignia 12000 bpu ,set up in a large apartment. run them at the same time, so I can tell difference. Danby is far more better than insignia. Danby runs smoothly and quietly, but when I started up insignia I felt the apartment floor is shaking! Sorry I will have to return insignia.
