- works as advertised- 7 mars 2013
This USB KVM is awesome. It does exactly as advertised. Just plug all the cables, plug the wireless USB dongle in the KEYBOARD input and just use it. The only thing that bother me a little bit is the time it takes to switch between computers. The USB switch scans on a predefined time to make sure it Works when you switch computers, but it takes a little while. I have read somewhere in the manual that you may change it, but I did not try to change the scan time. I may look into it when I get some time. Other than that, I found exactly what I needed. By the way, I bought a combo Logitech Keyboard and Mouse to use with it. Could not be a better match..Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.
- Worst KVM ever used- 2 juillet 2008
This is the worst KVM I've ever used, and I've used a lot. As another reviewer stated it does not work with wireless keyboard/mouse combos that use a single USB cable. That will teach me to read reviews first next time. I used it with a wired mouse and even that was flaky. You can not hot-plug a USB mouse. If the mouse is not connected during boot it will not be initialized. And even then it would randomly lose the mouse. The unit I bought had loose connections in one of the video cables causing funky colors unless I held the cable "just right". I will return it tomorrow. These are very very cheaply made. Spend a little extra for better quality. Buyer beware. No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
- Very good so far- 31 décembre 2011
I'm using it with desktop (Win7# and laptop #WinXP). At first I was worried because laptop wasn't getting mouse or keyboard input after first booting, but after WinXP auto-installed drivers, it started working perfectly. It switches between computers in about 2-3 seconds. Keyboard is a mechanical Das Keyboard and mouse is through Microsoft Wireless Desktop Receiver 3.1A. Something that wasn't obvious to me until I got it was it has separate inputs for keyboard and mouse, but it combines them into a single USB connection going to computers. Used less than a day, but have been switching back and forth often. Hope it lasts.Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.
- Worked okay for awhile- 25 mai 2011
This unit worked okay for awhile, then one day it just quit switching the audio and video between my two systems; however, the keyboard functionality continued working just fine. So, I have been using my Kensington 'Share Central' unit for the 'time being'; however, although it has a printer port, there is no video or audio capability with the Kensington. Now that I've added an additional box, I'll be purchasing a four-port unit by Belkin. Like the Kensington 'Share Central', the Belkin does have the Hot-Key function, as well as manual mode...which the IOGEAR lacks. The Belkin also seems to have one of the better reviews. No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
- Finally a KVM that works for Gaming PC's- 28 janvier 2011
I had the older version with the PS/2 connections and it worked flawlessly for business apps. Well I have a laptop and a Gaming PC and switching is very easy on the older one and now on this one. With the older one 1st-person shooter games (all of them) would stop running even when holding down the up-arrow key. I programmed many keys to be forward/run and it was like the key depressed would loose focus on the key??? Well lived with that 1 year, cause these cost a lot until now. The new IOGEAR with the USB connections do not have that flaw.. SO I am very happy. Only one downside, I have the Logitec G15 gaming board and its not recognized via its software. Oh well..Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.
