- Much better value than a cheaper 'off-brand"- November 21, 2017
Note - our family has two Roombas. I have purchased both an "off brand" extended life battery and the iRobot XLife battery. The iRobot battery run time beats the off brand by about 30 minutes. Special note - when iRobot offers a part as an improvement to the original be prepared to be pleased. My first experience was with the Enhanced Cleaning Head and it was a significant improvement over the original. (Note-I had to get a new cleaning head because I had damaged the original; my fault not iRobot) The XLife battery is another example. The difference between it and the original battery is significant.Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.
- Works great in 500 series- February 15, 2016
My Roomba 500 had slowed to the point it would only clean a bathroom space before requiring a recharge. No one in our area repairs these, so I used customer service with Roomba and ended up buying this extended life battery. The customer service person gave me free shipping. It was very easy to replace and the unit works great now.I've had it only a couple of weeks but this seemed to do the trick.I also ordered some supplies. Check alternate sales sites.Sometimes Roomba is less expensive;sometimes better deals can be found. But bottom line, my Roomba is working great again.Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.
- the xlife battery not as good as the original one!!- September 4, 2017
dont get me wrong, i LOVE my roomba - ive got an old one (the pet series), and ITS been great - with that said, the replacement battery SUCKS - it dosent last a quarter time of the original - yes, i keep it cleaned out (even use an air compressor on it) - yes, it gets charged when its done - when i purchased it, i had a 3000 square foot home, a long haired dog, short haired dog, 3 parrots and a cat - ran it almost every night for at least 4 YEARS on one battery - i downsized and moved to a 1300 foot cabin and only have 2 short haired dogs in the house and it barely lasted a year - disappointed - specially as expensive as the battery is -- would i recommend the battery? no, not really, but unless i want to replace the whole unit (which i LOVE), alas, i have no optionNo, I would not recommend this to a friend.
- Didn't find the difference - less durable than original- November 7, 2017
Hello. I Bought this Battery as a replacement of the original battery that came with the roomba 560 series. The first battery lasted about 3 1/2 to 4 years (amazing), with a regular use of 2 times per week (before it started to fail). This battery lasted not longer than 2 years with the same use so now I have to replace it again, and sincerely I didn't notice a difference in the running time (It supposed to be an extended life battery). I'm going to buy the standard battery, hopping better performance and less price.
- A great upgrade- November 28, 2017
Background - Our family is blessed with two cats, a dog and two Roombas designed for pet owners.. We've been using them for over five years with excellent results. The original batteries lasted for three or so years before the performance dropped to the point of requiring replacement. I purchased an extended life battery from iRobot and one form a generic supplier. The iRobot battery outperformed the generic battery with 30 minutes (or maybe a bit more) greater run time and is clearly a better buy than the generic. Note - when iRobot describes a replacement part as being an improvement over the original equipment the improvement is significant and well worth the cost. Another note - my wife just loves the Roombas; the time savings of having Roomba do the floors is huge - three-five hours per week. .Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.
