- Allows iPad Pro to be primary computing device- June 6, 2021
I’ve seen some not so good reviews with this (adapter) working with Macbook Pro / Air M1 (in terms running super hot), but it works superbly with the 2021 iPad Pro M1 (zero hot to touch experiences). Additionally, I’ve not experienced battery draining issues. The USB C port serves to charge as well as data processing. Using Apple’s USB C adapter for ear jack, when I plugged into the USB C port, sound was great and I could adjust volume using EarPods sound adjust switch (which most adapters cannot do given they are not Apple MFI compatible). This adapter rounds out my iPad Pro serving as many primary computing device. AWESOME!!Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.
- Good adapter for USB-C- July 26, 2019
I bought his to go with my new Samsung 9Pro laptop. It works great for that, but it would be better if it had a longer lead. I feel like it should be able to rest maybe 4-5 feet away so as not to hang off the side and warp the C/Thunderbolt socket. Also, as it turns out, you can use it to connect your iPhone or USB-C to your TV (in case you don't have wi-fi but you DO have LTE data) and stream your phone to your TV via the HDMI sockets. (This works with phones, but not with tablets.) I would recommend this to a person who just got a new Samsung laptop because there just aren't many USB-C peripherals yet.Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.
- It even works well with MacOS 11 Big Sur- December 3, 2020
This adapter works great with the MacBook Pro. It is the only adapter I have that works with the latest MacOS 11 Big Sur. It works well with Windows as well. The best part is has just been plug and play on both OSes (i.e. no driver software to install). It does get very warm as others have noted. (But not hot enough to burn you - at least so far -lol.) I have other j5create adapters that don't work with Big Sur. I only mention that because j5create doesn't clearly indicate that this one DOES work on their web site and discourages upgrading at this time. But with this one the upgrade is not a problem.Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.
