  • WORST PRODUCT EVER

I can't believe kitchenaid still sells this product considering their reviews. Trust me, these reviews are very accurate. The lid does not fit the bowl securely. It will pop off at the slight touch or even shake of the bowl. I poured flour into the spout and my measuring cup touched-just slightly touched-the shield and this made it pop off. It has this terrible design that only part of the bowl is covered so flour will still fly everywhere. I would challenge Kitchenaid to take this product home and use it yourself. Its impossible! Even with the machine off, any movement in the surrounding area will trigger the lid to pop off the bowl and hang there. So disappointed in you Kitchenaid.

  • Does NOT work, Shield will not stay on steel bowl
Reviewed by KJT Noncook - March 13, 2016

I bought this last weekend after having the salesman assure me it would fit my newly bought Kitchen Aid Mixer with the 4.5 quart stainless still bowl. Well, I bought home to make an Home Made Pound Cake & lets just it was much worse trying to make with the Pouring Shield. My excitment quicky turned to disappointment. I am so very disappointed, more than words can even express. I Love my Kitchen Aid Mixer, was just trying to make mixing easier on me, to keep it from slinging it out onto my counter, I thought this was my magic fix...but it was very far from it!!!

  • Terrible design. Doesn't work very well
    Reviewed by jfoll - December 25, 2016

I got the 5qt tilt-head stand mixer a couple years ago for Christmas and was so excited it came with the pouring/splatter shield. Unfortunately, I was sorely disappointed when the shield did nothing to keep the dry ingredients from flying out of the bowl and all over my counter and floor! I have since got the Blass bowl (which i love) and attempted to try the shield again - what was I thinking?! Flour was everywhere! The pour spout is also was too small to pour anything like sugar or flour where partials can go flying. Very poor design. They need to recreate this cover so that it not only stays securely on the bowl (both glass and metal), but close off the openings so dry ingredients don't have a chancestors of fly out of the bowl.
