- Does not fit professional 6000 hd model- June 12, 2016
Received this as a Christmas gift, was very excited to use this during the hot summer months! I made my ice cream mixture, and was dismayed to find that the attachment does not fit my KitchenAid mixer. I made sure that this attachment was correct for my KitchenAid model, which it is. The drive assembly is too small to fit onto the drive shaft, either way that I moved the drive assembly it did not fit. This is very disappointing, as well I received the instructions for a completely different ice cream attachment with a different drive assembly. I'm unsure if this was just a packaging error or this just does not fit this KitchenAid model. No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
- Loved it at first...- August 5, 2014
I received this for my birthday last July. I LOVED it and it worked wonderfully. I was able to make my favorite flavors that I can't get regularly at my grocery store (bubblegum, chocolate malt, etcetera) but after using it three or four times, I put it away. This summer, I pulled it out a few days ago and froze it, all ready to make some fresh fruit flavored ice creams. Instead what I found was a pool of blue liquid at the bottom of my freezer and an ice cream maker that only half freezes recipes now. I am disappointed that my attachment is now useless after only a few uses. Since it is still leaking the freezing agent, I assume it will soon not even half freeze anything.
- Not the best.- May 20, 2020
I bought the attachment a few years ago and have used it a few times. It seldom stayed cold enough to actually freeze the ice cream, even after having been in the freezer two days for preparation. Then the last time I used it, it leaked blue liquid all over the freezer, and continued leaking when I took it out of the freezer. Of course, warranty is out. And you can't purchase just the bowl. Not worth the price. No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
- Best ever- April 10, 2020
So I bought this and tried for the first time yesterday, just a simple vanilla icecream. Wanted to make sure it worked and worth the money. I dont know what other people's problems are if you understand the English language and can follow directions. Best icecream I've ever had... it was so light and fluffy and I knew every single ingredient!!! If you love icecream I say buy this attachment!!! So worth it!!!Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.
- Leaked Blue Fluid all over food in pantry.- March 26, 2019
We have used the ice cream maker less than 12 times, (probably more like 4-5) and have recently noticed blue stains on food and other appliance items in our pantry. After closer inspection we found it is coming from the ice cream maker. Sure did not expect this from KitchenAid. Sad to see a quality problem from KitchenAid.No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
