  • A bit boomy
    Reviewed by NJtinker - July 31, 2021

I bought these for playing around with a vintage Adcom 545. I openly admit my set up is a hodgepodge of vintage and new mid priced components including new star quad speaker wires and a mix of vintage Monster Cable and new interconnects. In it's day, when I was selling mid to high end audio. The Adcom was touted as "high current". Combined with horn type tweeters, potentially a bit bright. Driving the amp with a decent CD player I found the sound bright and a bit boomy. That said, phase coherence i.e. sound stage is excellent. Granted that statement speaks to the sum of the parts.. Still I am impressed and satisfied with the value.

  • frequency response issues made them annoying
Verified BuyerReviewed by callmecritical - August 24, 2019

for each benefit there was a drawback. yes the horn is fairly detailed, but the frequency response is uneven, with peaks that become strident easily. yes the bass was punchy and good for the speaker size, but it was also very uneven, weak at the bottom, and weak at the top of the range. the dynamics were not nearly as dramatic as the claimed sensitivity suggests, but then, several reviews disputed the high sensitivity claims of the manufacturer. i bought them to use with a low power amp, but the sound quality wasn't worth it. very good looking, though, if that's a deciding factor. for me it wasn't. I wanted to like the speakers, but they wouldn't let me.

  • I love Klipsch
Verified BuyerReviewed by AaronMG - January 6, 2020

I love Klipsch and these speakers just cement my enthusiasm for them and my trust in their brand, quality and sound! I was simply floored when I listened to these in stereo mode on my Onkyo receiver. I have a 7.2 system, but I changed it to 2.0 to listen / break these in for a while. Wow. Out of the box they sounded amazing... great solid bass (not muddy), clear solid mids and sparkling highs (which are not harsh either). I love these speakers and I'm glad I chose this pair! I highly recommend these to anyone looking to upgrade their older Klipsch speakers or moving from a different brand to these. You will not be disappointed!
