We kicked the cable route and went with OTA. Inside we got 19 channels and decided to roof mount the unit. So far we received 38 channels with more expected this PM as we seem to do better after sun set. We live about 20 miles east of Windsor ON and receive stations from Detroit Mi and Woodstock and Hamilton ON which is over 100 miles away. Can't get Cleveland but would like to get Toledo. AMP works great. Picture quality outstanding on our Samsung 3D Plama 5 years old. We are about 32 ft above ground and could add another 5 ft with a 12 ft pole. We may try a dedicated antenna aimed for Toledo. A cheap plastic housing but it should keep the rain out. A work in progress.

just installed yesterday, not finished adjusting location yet, on 4th floor facing the lake in burlington. some of the channels are quite interesting as compared to cable, everything free, so can;t complain. I put the pole in a patio umbrella stand on the balcony, so quite secure. I am happy with it, i just want to use a splitter for a second tv, but haven;t done that yet. I seems more than adequate and as i said it's free tv, for me as a retired person on a fix income this is great.

I bought it for the range (100 miles)as per reviews online. I live in Woodstock, ON. I could only get 6 stations with the antenna mounted outside. I was using a home made antenna and today May 1, 18. I was getting 32 channels. I usually get Omni , Yes, City , TVO, CTV Kitchener, CHCH, CTV London and Global with a signal strength of 100. With the omni HD8008 my signal strength 75. I couldn't even get city TV which has a repeater tower about 10 kms from my house.

Bought this to replace my homemade antenna. I live in Woodstock. ON. couldn't even get city TV which has a repeater tower about 10 kms away. I mounted the Lava outside just above the roof line. I could only get 5 channels and signal strength 69 - 75 . With my antenna I get 9 and signal strength 90 -100. Some days I get Detroit and Buffalo which are 100 miles away. don't waste your money. I'm returning the antenna.

I live in an area in So Orange County where hills block all directions of TV towers, which the closest towers in a straight line are 48 miles. I had tried a few indoor antennas including the Mohu Leaf 50, which was one of the better ones, but only received 2 local channels. When I found the Lava 8008 HDTV antenna I was reluctant to buy it, because I live in a condo and it is an out door antenna and I didn't think I would get very many channels. I am glad I did buy it!!! With a little bit of camouflaging and coax cable (running to three televisions, I now get free tv!!! I get about 75 channels but only watch about 15-20 because a lot are foreign and shopping channels. In my area, the main local channels are 2, 4, 5, 7, 9, 11 and 13. I don't receive 7 or 9, but I get other great movie channels plus PBS. So yes, considering I live in the foothills, I am amazed with my Lava 8008 HDTV antenna!
