- Not worth the price- January 17, 2021
This is my 6th UCS built and I have to say for the first time I was disappointed with Lego. Usually I don't question the design except when there is something obvious like a red or pink colored piece that is not well covered by the final piece. During the build, I did go through the instructions again at two separate occasion because I though I missed something, just to come up with the same result. When put together, the pieces were not sturdy enough, it felt like the set would fall apart just by moving it a bit. Also, I still don't understand why there are stickers on UCS sets!! For the price and the build quality, I am not recommending this set.No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
- Excellent UCS Build- May 19, 2020
The A-Wing is such a perfect design for a UCS build. As Iconic as something like the Imperial Star Destroyer is, it really doesn't make an interesting design to build (to many grey, flat panels). The A-Wing is fantastic however. Because it's a smaller ship, so much detail can be packed into it's design in scale the build is. The effort that has gone into making the build's design sleek and shiny is amazing and really surprises you when you realise it's made of Lego. I hope this design mentality carries over to future UCS builds. I would love to see something from the prequels such as the Republic Gunship or perhaps even the U-Wing from Rogue One.Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.
- Poor Design- December 3, 2021
I have purchased and assembled many UCS builds and have been impressed often, but this is my least favorite set. The color consistency of the burgundy bricks is lackluster and the overall build stability leaves a lot to be desired. The thrusters are flimsy once assembled as they are only connected by a single rod, the front of each side is only connected by a singe ball hinge, and the cockpit consistently comes apart. I feel that the price paid for this set is much too high given the poor quality. That being said, the build looks wonderful and if put on display, makes for a great conversation starter. No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
