Great screen but had 4 back to back with dead/stuck pixels...

The quality of the screen is pretty good, color are accurate and the stand is nice. The problem is that I have tried 4 of them and they all had DEAD/STUCK pixels.... Will never buy LG monitor again. I dont recommend

Check dead pixel

Overall it's good except 1 dead pixel at the center. However LG warranty claims it's within spec as long as there are no more than 7 dead pixels (what a wide tolerance). So make sure to use a software to check dead pixel within 14 days to avoid any hassle.

AMAZING monitor

I had an LG 34UM95 wide screen, but wanted FULL 4k. So i bought this one when it was on special. WOW! I am so much more productive when it comes to work. Its like having 2.5 HD screens in one. I also tried gaming with it, but my 1070GTX was not enough for ultra settings. So i upgraded to 1080ti , and ITS AMAZING! The speakers are bad, but who cares, nobody buys this to Watch tv on it. Buy a set of Logitech speakers and enjoy high end gaming!!

Superb Monitor!

Tried numerous monitors and this one is fantastic, with uniform screen brightness, IPS for wide viewing angle, 4K, fully swiveling base (up, down, tile, rotate to landscape), etc. Perfect match for my 27” 5K iMac via Mini DisplayPort to Display port connection (cable purchased separately) for photo editing.

Great monitor for the price!

I'm a web designer, hooked up the monitor and it works great. The colors look excellent and it was really easy to setup. I also like that the monitor can turn vertically which is useful for coding. Check out boompah.com if you'd like to learn more about my web design stuff.

Very impressed with my first day of use

Scroll down for some tips about the monitor's special features. The box comes with: - A DisplayPort cable, about 1.5 meters in length. - An HDMI cable, same length. - A power cord for the monitor - an adjustable stand which rotates in all directions, and has very good height and angle adjustment. - and of course the monitor itself Pros: - Very good settings straight out of the box. I only brought the brightness down a bit for use in a low light environment. - Great contrast. I set the brightness to 60 and the contrast to 70 for the best balance. When I see a dark scene, I find myself thinking "This is almost too dark", then a bright scene comes and I think "This is almost too bright!". There's a sweet spot and those settings are where it is for me. - Vivid colour. My biggest worry with cheaper monitors is that they'll be washed out. Not the case here; colours are bright. - Matte bezel, and no light bleed from the edges. - Easy interface for adjusting settings, and a nice 'joystick' type control in the center-bottom of the monitor for controlling the menu. - Response time of under 1 frame if playing at 60fps. Feels instant even in the fastest games. - Viewing angle is more than acceptable. There's no color distortion no matter how far I lean from my chair, and I can get about 45 degrees away before the monitor looks dimmer. Cons: - None so far, though there are some quirks noted below Important notes: - Playing a game at 1080p and allowing the monitor to do the upscaling seems to have a bad effect on the contrast and gamma of the image. If you want to preserve your dark blacks while playing at a lower resolution, set your computer to do the display scaling on the GPU instead of the monitor. (Nvidia control panel has this, can't speak for AMD or Intel). This will send a pre-upscaled image to the monitor, which interprets it as 4k. - The "Black Stabilizer" feature only activates if you set it above or below 50. Fifty means that Black Stabilizer is OFF. Turning it up will make dark things brighter, turning it down will make bright things darker. I keep it off (50) so that my contrast is even from dark to light. - The "SUPER RESOLUTION+" feature is great, and I use it on Low. It's meant to sharpen images when they're upscaled, and it does a lovely job of it when playing games at 1080p or 1440p, but note that it does have a sharpening effect even when the picture is at native 4k. I found the 'medium' setting gave the best results when playing at lower resolutions, but I noticed slight artifacting at 4k. So I recommend either Low or Off. Definitely turn this off if you only use the monitor at 4k.

Great Monitor, crappy speakers

The picture quality is great and the setup is easy. However this speakers are quiet and blown out at the same time.

Very pleased

I bought thid monitor on november 19th, installed it, plugged it to a HP Elite, works flawlessly. Resolution is fabulous, image quality is awsome, even in HD resolution. I use this monitor for work, not for gaming, I do a lot of CAD drawings on Visio and AutoCad and I needed real estate, I have it now. On my Acer Aspire, however, I found out that the video card is not up to par cannot generate anything more than 1920 x 1080. However, the image is so good that I am not complaining. I recommend this monitor without hesitation, just make sure that you have the proper video card.

Pleasing colours, good design, good for gaming

Very happy with this monitor. The colours seem quite accurate, the contrast is a bit low but can be increased. The stand itself is great, lots of adjustments. For this model LG gave up the cheap looking glossy bezels, this monitor has a matte stand, matte bezels, which looks much classier! Gaming is good, topping 60fps on Doom 2016 Ultra settings - the 4K resolution is stunning.

Xbox One X Interoperability

FYI: This is a great monitor at a great price; however it will not work properly with the new Xbox One X. The problem lies in the fact that the monitor only accepts Display Port as an input for 4k @ any framerate, and the Xbox One X only sends out video signal using HDMI and high speed HDMI. You can still use the monitor with the One X, but you won't be getting 4K or the Freesync functionality.

Great buy for special price

Not sure why some say this is bait as it isn't available but I bought this on the 26/10/2017 and very happy with the screen and special price I got it for. Built-in speakers as everybody else said is a bit on the low end and I use this as a second screen and switched back to the speakers on my original LG screen as it has a bit more bass and clarity. The other thing you should keep in mind when purchasing this screen is that it is Free Sync capable but only if you use it with AMD Radeon based graphics cards. I, unfortunately, use a Nvidia solution so it doesn't support this feature. If you use Nvidia and you're primarily thinking of getting it for gaming don't as you need G-Sync support for Nvidia instead. I only rate it 4 stars as the 1-year warranty is a bit on the downside especially for a 4k screen, one would expect at least 2 years coming from a brand such as LG.

GOOD for everyday using.

The stand is professional. The color is vivid and bright. Overall performance is worth for the price. Definitely the must-buy 4K monitor for the sale price.

Great monitor

A affordable, nice looking 4K monitor with a pivot stand. The only thing doesn't work well is the speaker, absolutely the worst in my experience. I still rate it to 5 stars. I have nothing to complain about it as a monitor

  • from Fredericton, NB

Good Value

Pros Low input lag and response time for an IPS Decent colors and contrast out of the box Solid, adjustable stand that doesn't wobble, and is easy to assemble/remove Includes one HDMI and one Displayport cable Cons Built-in speakers are relatively weak and tinny On-screen display can be a bit clunky to use
