Great Monitor

It is sharper than the 34inch model as the resolution has less to cover, and is great for gaming, it also has freesync now compared to the older model. Highly Recommend this! #UltraWIdeForLife

The pictures do not match the product.

Bought this for the sleek design but when I got home, I was surprised to see a completely different product than what bestbuy claims on their website. The pictures are from this models' larger sibling (34 inch). The product you are actually getting LOOKS identical to the 29UM 58 shown on bestbuys website.

Fantastic for the price; no built-in speakers

I use this for work and for gaming. For work: Coming from a dual monitor setup, I find this easier on my neck as I don't have to keep turning my head to look at things. This is like having 2 smaller 1080p 5:4 monitors side by side with no bezel in the middle. Windows 10's built in screen split feature works great with this monitor, as I can have 2 full size documents open, snapped side by side, just like when I had 2 monitors. What makes it even better is the fact that I could adjust the size of each side - something not physically possible with 2 separate monitors. Another advantage is that I don't have to worry about calibrating 2 monitors to look the same in terms of brightness, color, and, contrast. So far, this has all the advantages of having a dual monitor setup without the downsides. Gaming is where this really shines. Games look great in the ultrawide aspect ratio, as long as the game supports this resolution. You can get a real advantage in competitive games as you can see more horizontally at any time. This applies to shooters, racing games, and even RTS. In case the game does not support the ultrawide resolution, you can always play in 16:9 with black bars or stretched. Performance does not take a big hit as there isn't TOO much difference going from 1920*1080 to 2560*1080. You're probably looking at an average of 3-5 fps drop. Do note that this is a 75 Hz monitor. With vsync on, most games are going to run at 75 fps instead of the standard 60. If you're using an AMD graphics card with freesync enabled, that won't be a problem, and you can continue playing at 60fps if you so choose. When it comes to media consumption, this doesn't seem to do so well for me. 21:9 aspect ratio content is not very prevalent. At the time of writing, Netflix has all their movies in 16:9, and Google play movies' 21:9 content has a thick black border to the top, right, down, and left for some weird reason. The only media can take advantage of this display is non-streamed media. 16:9 movies and videos will of course have a black bar on each side. If immersion is important for you, any 21:9 monitor would not be an option for you. Another disadvantage is the lack of built-in speakers. You will need to buy an additional set of speakers to use with this display. It has volume controls but it's only for the 3.5 mm audio out behind the monitor. In conclusion, solid monitor for the price. Freesync is a plus, low response time for gaming. This earns my recommendation.
