Awesome TV

Had LG in the past and never had problems. Bought cheaper brand lasted only 6 months. So purchased this one. This TV looks amazing for the price, There is nothing comparable for the price

Impressive TV

This is the second LG television I have bought and again I was very impressed. The picture quality is fantastic and the speakers boost great sound. I saw some previous reviews saying the speakers were not good and picture quality was not up to par, Well im sorry but those reviews are all lies. The LG 4K UHD 55" tele is a contender to be the best television. Gaming, movies and navigating through the settings and applications great. All in all great television.

Garbage TV and Garbage Company

I purchased an LG TV on November 25th, 2017 and after having it in my home for four days I noticed something wrong with the picture. It would flicker to a green screen for a second and then no picture and then back to normal. I called the LG support line and the agent had me reset the TV. It seemed to work and I had no other problems until December 27th when the same issues started again. I called the LG support line again and the agent had me reset the TV again. It didn't take long for the problem to start again. I called the support line again and requested a refund for the purchase price as the TV was defective. I was told that regardless of the issue LG would not refund my money and that they would only repair the TV. I explained that I didn't want a repaired TV and that is not what I paid for when I purchased the TV, I wanted a new one. I was made to wait on hold several times and treated very condescendingly by their agents at every turn. I was given a contact for a repair service to diagnose the TV issue. I called the repair service and they told me that they would only come to repair the TV not to diagnose as LG will only pay them for one trip. I was not happy with this so I contacted LG again and at the end of the conversation I was told that LG would contact the repair service to set up an appointment. Having heard nothing back I called LG again to find out that no appointment had been made and that they could not reach the repair service so they would send an email. I hung up with the LG rep and called the repair service myself and they answered right away and told me that they had not received any calls in the past hour so I am not sure if the rep even attempted to call on my behalf. I have set-up the repair for the TV (which will take another 1-2 weeks) no thanks to LG. I still want a refund for the defective product they allowed to be sold.

LG Brand.

Not as bad as you think.. Compared to my old 32" insignia 720p, massive difference obviously. The sound is not the best but thats why I attached a sound bar to it, 2.1 300w, really all you need unless you're into really good surround sound! It works well with Netflix, and the ps4, the picture is very good. Adjustments to the colour and brightness are not the best. All in all this is a good quality tv set and you can never go wrong with LG.

Bad picture and terrible speakers

Hello I tried for a couple days to set the picture on this tv and could not get a decent picture for my non 4k content. Everyting looked better on my old lcd. The 4k did look good but for now I watch mostly 1080p and youtube. The sound from the speakers is below average and even for a basic tv they should of did a better job. The remoite feels very cheap and sluggish. I ended up returning this tv I do not recommend this tv. I ended up with a Samsung and very happy!!

Don't bother with this garbage

The sound is so bad, and the smart app is not so smartly programmed. Really complicated setup. Sharp is a much better pick and price.

Colours are very dark

I tried to like this TV, initially enjoying it because of its very responsive Input Lagg for gaming and tons of picture options, plus purchasing on a budget. However after a few days I started to become fed up with the very muted dark ugly looking colors, no matter how much you calibrate the TV colors are darker than you'd like them to be. If you compare this TV next to another TV (I tested 5 TVs) you will immediately notice the difference. Yellows being the worst color of all, very dark and muted. Easy example would be the color of an Best Buy logo on this website, normally it has a lighter yellow shade, but on this TV it's closer to a darker orange hue. Now I'm not comparing this to OLED standards, however for an LED TV it's abyssal. My LG 32'' from 4 years ago blows this TV away in picture quality. Anyways that aside, the TV build is decent. The stand legs are hard plastic, but can wobble pretty easily. The inputs are easy to access. Also the Smart TV apps are excellent and very responsive which is nice. The TV remote is good and much more refined from my larger LG remote from the past. I should mention the TV sound is pretty good too, decent amount of options to tinker around with to suit your tastes though I used external speakers after the initial testing. I'll mention that the TV also has an internet browser which is functional if you're interested in that. Input Lagg for gaming is excellent which makes this TV a good choice if purchased specifically for gaming if the TV is on a VERY good sale. To summarize Good -Very responsive Input Lagg for gaming -Fast Smart TV apps -Good Sound Bad: -Dark muted colors -Local dimming can be distracting at times (can't be disabled), notably on still images -Stand isn't the greatest quality I wouldn't recommend this TV to anybody that appreciates brighter more accurate colors in their TVs. Even to an average movie viewer you may be able to ignore the darker colors at first, but anytime you view content that requires richer colors IE: Cartoons, Disney movies etc... you will wish you had a better TV. 2/5

Great TV when calibrated

Purchased for my parents, great entry level 4K TV. Once calibrated, awesome image quality. Watching anything in 4K HDR looks amazing. Comes with a few standard apps like Youtube, Netflix and Prime Video. Very happy with the purchase.

Great TV for the price

Good 4K tv with great smart tv features. The new Channel Plus feature gives quick channel surfing to presently 68 internet channels without having to launch separate apps, just push channel up/down to change internet channels. The panel is IPS which gives very good viewing from any angle which works great in my setup for all viewers! There are lots and lots of picture adjustment settings especially for the expert isf dark and light room settings. HDR works on youtube, netflix and PS4 gaming which is great as I returned a cheaper off brand set where the HDR made everything in HDR dark, almost colourless and unwatchable! I don't think HDR is necessary however if you use the built in TV app like netflix, there is no way of turning HDR off so it needs to work properly. It does work properly for HDR10 on this set although this set does not do Dolby Atmos HDR so the netflix and youtube videos just play in HDR 10 as far as I can tell. Being an IPS panel the blacks and whites usually are not as black and white as you might wish although with some tweaking of settings I am happy with the results on this set. It's no OLED however its also a lot less money than OLED and does not have the burn in and image retention problems that OLED has. The remote is small but well laid out. The LG magic remote will not work as this set does not have bluetooth however, THERE IS A MAGIC REMOTE APP THAT WORKS GREAT WITH THIS SET. It's called LG WebOS Magic Remote in the android play store and works over wifi, no ir blaster needed! I have not checked ios yet for an app for my ipad but I will. I tried two other tv's before this one, both a couple hundred dollars less, one with roku built in ( I like roku but not built in like it was as the only remote for your tv). This set is over all much better than the other sets and worth the extra money! IMHO Also this set has true motion turned on, on most of the factory picture settings which gives the soap opera effect to any movement on the screen which I do not like on most programming however is is easy to adjust or turn off for each picture setting preset! In fact every preset factory picture setting like vivid, sports game etc. are all user customizable and the two expert isf dark and light room settings are not setup really as they both look the same and have a lot of extra settings for pretty decent pro calibration of your set! Quite impressed with all the features of this set for less than seven hundred dollars. I warrantied it for a total of five years so pretty reasonable per year cost. IMHO

Fantastic TV for the price

This TV has a great picture. Obviously you should always change the picture settings to suit the room its going to be used in. After adjustments, its great. I originally intended to use it for the bedroom since I have another 55" Samsung 4K which I paid twice as much for. However, This TV is slightly better in picture quality so the Samsung went into the bedroom instead.. A great deal for this TV even at full price. Web OS is quick to load. Remote could have had the motion control built in but not a big deal to me. Concerning the sound, I use an external surround sound AV system so I cant comment much about it. Even the cheapest external AV receiver setup will produce better sound then almost any TV. Not as clear as say an OLED TV but for the price to quality/features this TV wont let you down. 5 Stars.

Great TV For an LG

This Tv offers the basic features where the quality of the image is adequate and sound is pretty clear. The white colour is slightly bluish as I expected. However, I have all I need in this TV. One little thing that some of you may need in your TV, is an RC via cell phone feature, which is not available in this model.
