Favourite mouse

This is by far my favourite mouse. Battery life is great. I find the buttons on the mouse work well for me. I have had it about 2 years without any issues. Would absolutely buy this mouse again.

Looks great..Feels great..Suffers from the Double Click!

Well it was a great mouse for the short while that I used it but quite quickly (about 2 yrs later) it started suffering from the dreaded double click that I hear Logitech is famous for. A pretty expensive mouse to have only lasted me a couple years.

Works great!

Does the job well. Had no issues installing. Works perfect on my black ikea desk. Plug and Play on Windows 10. Much better than comparable models from Microsoft.

  • from Montréal, QC

Very disappointed with this mouse. Easy enough to hook up, but the wheel seems to be dysfunctional in my mouse as it continually scrolls up or down the screen without the mouse being touched. Almost fifty bucks for a hunk of junk.

It does have a unified receiver

I wrote a review saying it did not come with a unifying receiver. It does but it's actually hidden inside the battery compartment. You need to remove the battery cover to find it.

  • from Toronto, ON

Did not come with unifiying receiver

The box said it has a receiver dongle but it was not there. I have a unifying receiver for my keyboard so no issue for me. Just be aware

Feels great to hold but there is something seriously wrong with the laser or the wireless connections because it's constantly glitching. It's really frustrating when you are trying to work fast and then it starts to glitch. I don't do much gaming but I can only imagine how frustrating it would be losing games because of your mouse glitching. Never going to buy a wireless mouse buy Logitech again! Also the mouse wheel glitches. I will be scrolling down and it will suddenly scroll up.

Middle Button Unreliable

I wanted to use this for CAD work, but the middle button is not reliable. Sometimes it releases while I am holding it down, which is frustrating. Also the Hyper-fast scroll is sloppy, basically releases the scroll wheel so that it spins freely, but is hard to control.

Logitech Marathon Wireless Lase Mouse M705

Bought this mouse and I am quite pleased with it. It has lived up to what they said it would do so far. Have had it going on 1 month. Easy set up and ran smoothly from day 1. This isn't a gaming mouse, but for everything else works great. Find it is comfortable In the hand. Would recommend this mouse for daily use.

Buttons drive me crazy

The good : battery life. I use it for my job, at home, and never remember when I changed the battery for the last time, it was so long ago ! The bad : huge problems with the button. You click one, sometimes it double-clicks, sometimes it doesn't. When you hold the button, sometimes it stops holding, sometimes it clicks several times during the pointer movement, making unwanted reactions. Selecting a text (often needed in my job) can be a nightmare, so much time lost !

Mouse for you

For what it's worth this mouse works as advertised. Understand that this is not gaming mouse at all. Could be small for some users with big hands. Knowing these things should say to buy it now.

  • from Ottawa, ON

Looks good. Doesn't work.

Ever since I bought this thing it has been unreliable. Software problems. Immediately went back to Best Buy on Merivale for some suggestions as how to make it work. Told to go to the manufacture. Just plain not interested. Limited help from Logitech. Has never worked well and now not at all. I give up. On Logitech and on Best Buy.

Works very poorly without a mousepad

I bought this mouse to replace a MS mouse (mobile mouse 4000) that served me well for many years. I was disappointed to find that M705 works extremely poorly on desk surfaces - any kind of pattern (such as woodgrain) in a table completely confuses it and it jumps and skips around. When I switched to another table in a meeting room that happened to be white, the mouse moved at about 1/3 the speed that it does at my desk - and I had to pump the mouse pointer speed up to max just to use the mouse (then switch it back when I got back to my desk of course). With a mouse pad it works better, but still skips and jumps a bit, it's not nearly as precise as the MS mice with the blue lasers. The battery life, however, is unbelievable. I used this for about 8 months on a set of 2 AA batteries and still had juice left. And we're talking 8 hours days of CAD work on my computer. Very impressive.

Logitech Marathon Wireless Laser Mouse (M705)

This is my second purchase of this mouse mode. I got the first one on boxing day last year. I like the features of this mouse specially the scroll wheel has two settings. You can spin the scroll wheel so fast and no clicks. The second setting gives you the clicks. My second one is on my wife's computer.

Logitech M705 - A great mouse for work and play

I was introduced to this mouse when it was first out many years ago at work. That multimedia keyboard was just 'meh' but I loved the mouse. That thing just sips juice from the two AA batteries! I tried to keep track on how often I change the batteries and it's literally YEARS! That's that's with daily use pretty much during my shift at the office all day for 5 days a week almost for the full year! I decide to buy one for my gaming laptop, which it replaced my old wireless Razer gaming mouse. This M705 has ZERO lag, fast response for latest shooter games, and it's great for everyone use. I'm also comparing it to other Logitech gaming mice and I much prefer this M705. I have smaller hands and the other larger desktop gaming mice just tire my hand easily. Not this M705 - it's very comfortable and produces little or no fatigue from extended use. There is just one con, the scroll wheel can get a bit too sensitive - you can adjust the scroll speed/lines or just fast-switch to click mode. Overall it's a great mouse. I think Logitech has discontinued this mouse but if you can find it, snag it!

Favourite mouse ever

Best mouse I've ever used, LOVE it. I've been using one at work and one at home for five years. Have sampled other mice since then and nothing's come close to the same great feel and ergonomics. Perfect amount of buttons for my preference and love being able to unlock the scroll wheel for smooth, super fast scrolling. The buttons are starting to go now but they sustain heavy use - video editing and gaming - and I have a bad habit of clicking too hard, so it's impressive they've lasted this long. Going to replace both of them this week while they're still in stock on sale.

Souris imprécise arrête de bouger et reprend après 1 ou 2 secondes. Difficulté avec le système Unifiyng pour gérer le clavier et la souris. Ma souris à fil en 2000 était mieux que cela...

Scroll button is too sensitive

I actually use it to play games. The performance is good. The only thing bother me now is the scroll button in the middle is too sensitive. It triggers with a little touch.

  • from Oakville, ON

Good performing mouse

The performance of this mouse is good. I use it for general computing and some light gaming. I do not notice too much lag and I find it easy to control and responsive. I also like that I don't have to be too concerned about changing batteries.

Logitech mouse

Very happy with this style of mouse. It is my second of this kind, no problems with it. Has smooth or click scrolling, and side buttons for advancing pages. Small usb attachment, batteries last forever, even if you forget to turn it off. As a plus I had it sent to the Yukon and it arrived in just a few days, much faster than expected. Thanks Best Buy and Logitech

Very good mouse. Love it!!!

Hi, Bought this mouth few months ago when it was 1/2 price. Very good mouse and I love it. The only drawback is it's a little bit heavy for some people, because it has two AA batteires.

  • from Gibsons, BC

Great for a large hand

Really like this mouse with one exception. I am having to retrain my hand not to relax otherwise I am right clicking when I am playing a game. I have a large palm and long fingers so the size is perfect, also smooth movement. Like anything new and different, you just have to get used to it.

  • from Vancouver, BC

I like the hold of this mouse

The shape of this mouse fits very well in my palm. Very sensitive. The manual did not explain what one of the button is used for. Other than that, the set up was easy too. This is my 5th mouse in this same shape in the last 5 years. All of them are still functional. I bought this because it has the unifying receiver. This shows how much I like the shape of this mouse.

not the best mouse to hold in your hands..

Amazing mouse.

I purchased this mouse because my grandmother had the same mouse and I love it. The shape fits my hand perfectly. It tracks accurately on almost any surface. The only qualm I have is there is not enough resistance behind the scroll wheel when hyper scrolling is turned off. And it would be more convenient if it used Bluetooth instead of a USB RF reciever.

  • from Richmond, BC

Great mouse, you just have to adjust to it, that's all.

  • from Ottawa, ON

Check the manual for features :)

I picked this up in the M710 combo package. Mouse is great, but the comment on the middle button being stiff made me want to advise the purpose of it :) Scroll Wheel Mode Shift Button – Press to shift between hyper-fast (free-spinning) and precision (click-to-click) scrolling. Pressing down on this button will stop the user who finds the wheel will keep spinning for 30 seconds. As well the button is stiff for a reason as it is an on/off type switch and not used that often

  • from Brampton, ON

nice big mouse

I like it, it feels nice, and works on any surface. I'm currently using it on my couch. I don't really like the two thumb buttons, they're so tiny and awkward to use. The middle scroll wheels feels solid, but it's a bit too sensitive. I never end up scrolling to where I want to, and if you just let go it will keep scrolling for 30 seconds! But I do love the feel, other wireless mice are too small and make me feel like a giant when I use them.

Feels good in hand but horrible middle button

Feels "plastic"

I used to buy only logitech mouse. My M510 broke down last week so I decided to try the M705. I was pretty disapointed by the plastic feel of it. Scrolling wheel is loose, the DPI center button clicking is hard & weird, feels like it's not soft or smooth. I might be too picky but I used to buy Logitech mouses to have this strong built and smoothness but right now, it looks more like a cheap plastic wiresless mouse.

  • from Kelowna, BC

Really nice but...

Feels great in my hand. The funtionality is pretty neat, I haven't had a mouse with all these buttons on it. It takes some getting used to but all that added functionality is definitely interesting. The only downside for me is that this mouse is like a brick in my hand. It's very heavy and I am not used to that. When I want to run my cursor halfway across the screen and stop it instantly on a link it just doesn't happen because of the weight. I can have my cursor 1cm from the link I want and when you push the mouse over just a tiny bit it often moves the cursor too far because you had to push it so hard. Obviously this will differ depending on the surface you use it on. As much as I like the feel and functionality of this mouse I am returning it. I am constantly reminded of how much I miss my corded mouse because my surfing, gaming and other experiences with this mouse are just not up to my standards. A lighter mouse is so much more accurate.

  • from Toronto, ON

Very good mouse

At first I thought this mouse is really imprecise compared to my other Logitech gaming mouse. It turns out it needed the settings to be tweaked out a little bit. I had pointer speed set too fast so when I moved the mouse it jerked and could not aim at really small areas on my screen. I turned the pointer speed down a bit and set acceleration to high and it made a world of a difference, way more accurate. 3 years battery life + 10 m range = awesome. I am getting wireless Logitech keyboard now, so only one transceiver needed, keep up the good work Logitech.

Awesome mouse.Great value.

Very accurate Quality build Works on almost any surface Great price Battery needs replacement once in 3 years

Perfect mouse

This is the perfect wireless mouse for someone who wants one that looks great, has a few extra buttons (5 in total), good battery life, great performance, and isn't expensive.

good one

love it

  • from Goderich, ON

I purchased this mouse yesterday after reviewing several online. However, I feel it's highly overrated! First off, it doesn't work on my desk surface, so now I have to use a mouse pad. The other 2 cheaper models I had worked great! It seems much jerkier to use than the others. I guess the extra cost is primarily for the longer battery. Wouldn't recommend.

Doesn't point to where you want to point. Don't purchase it if you are thinking to play some shooting game. (e.g. Counter Strike)

  • from Campbell River, BC

Terrible sense of movement

The mouse feels like one of the best buys you can make with the added back and forward buttons it has, which a lot of mouses don't now a days for some odd reason without being too pricey; however, once you use it, you can see why it's priced as it is. The movement censor is really terrible. Whenever I try to move to say a small "X" on my window or tab, or even small writing, the mouse decides for itself to stop just before it. Trying to move your mouse around to specific spots is hard and very unreliable. Very dissatisfied with this product.

for Logitech Marathon Wireless Laser Mouse (M705)

I was expecting it will alleviate pain in my arm. It didn't happen.

  • from North Vancouver, BC

just so so

I bought 2 mx within past two years. They worked great in a year. But in the second year, they had small issues such as the button sometimes were no responds. I checked a lot of reviews and decided to try this one. As soon as I received it, I found it looked pretty cheap and worked just so so. I prefer MX and might be give it another shot.

  • from Cantley, QC

Less than impressed...

Quite cumbersome compared to previous models, although it's quite ergonomic. Scroll wheel too loose. Pages fly up and down the screen and the only way to control it is by engaging the scroll wheel brake (which defeats the functionality of the floating wheel, right?). I've been a Logitech fan for +20 years but this is the second model in a row that's left me questioning their R&D / QC. Not too sure if I'll buy another of their mice.

  • from Toronto, ON

Great Product

After reading the reviews and hearing others say good things about this, I decided to take a chance. This is the best mouse I have ever used, it fits my hand perfectly and the option to change the scrolling is just great. I am not disappointed at all and I would highly recommend.

  • from Guelph, ON

33' of Range? No way

I picked up this mouse to use with my computer attached to my living room tv. The couch is about 10' from the computer and this mouse wouldn't reliably work at this distance. I had to stand up and walk to about 3' from the computer to get it to work. I had the USB connector in line of sight with nothing in the way. I even tried turning off everything else that might interfere with the connection and nothing helped. Took it back within a day.

Logitech Marathon Wireless Laser Mouse (M705)

This is the best mouse I've used. It is very comfortable. I had it for 3 years, been using it extensively, original battery is still good, one button has become a bit flaky, so I bought exact same model again, very happy with it. It is great even at a full price.

Great Product!

I highly recommend this mouse, it feels great in your hand and is very responsive. A 'best' buy!

Amazing Battery Life

I have owned and used this mouse everyday for work for over 2 years on the same 2 AA batteries, even when the battery light turns red, you can still use it for a week before it quits. I have never owned a mouse that lasts this long, its amazing.

  • from Stoney Creek, ON

Great mouse

I've owned a M705 since August of 2010 and it just died this week. Let me start off by saying it's been through hell and back. It went through 3 years of college and was used every single day, traveled in a backpack most of it's life. 2 regular AA batteries last an average of 2 months. I just picked up another, great mouse. Pick one up folks.

  • from Pickering, ON

Great addition!

I got this mouse on a deal with the purchase of a brand new laptop, and I must say it is very nice. It feels nice in the palm of my hand, and the two functions of the scroll wheel feel very nice, as well as the two side buttons for going forward and back when browsing the web. There is a third button where your thumb goes, but I have yet to figure out what it does, and like a typical guy, I didn't read the instructions. All in all, great buy and would strongly recommend it to anyone casually browsing the web!
