Cheaply made, clunky, way too big, key feel like toy from a happy meal
I was not used to supporting my wrist on the 'wrist support' area of the wave keyboard so it took maybe a week or so for me to be comfortable with that. After that, it was a breeze. I cannot imagine using a flat keyboard with no support. This one is much more ergonomically designed.
The mouse could be a bit more compact though!
I had that keyboard for years now that thing is made very strong! A must for couch/tv gaming on pc you can also use an other logitec wierless mouse whitout conection problem by using 2 different reciver and the best feature the batterie life !! this is not a joke it last for years even whit heavy use everyday! The last battery i droped in there lasted for 2 years ! I must have droped the keyboard at least a 1000 times from my couch and it still work like a charm !
The mouse that come whit the combo is ok but like i said if you are tired of it after a while you can just buy a full wireless or wired gaming mouse and both will work just fine ! Great choice if you dont mind sticking to a basic wireless keyboard !
Feels natural to type. Someone mentioned lag, that is usually a signal problem, if you use the supplied wire you can place the receiver in a better spot. I haven't had lag issues. The keys give an OK, physical feedback when pressed.
I have weak pink fingers that miss type a lot on regular keyboards but the letters are in a more natural position on this keyboard which makes it easier to hit keys with pinkies and I can type a bit faster.
The mouse is comfortable.
The only downside is that there is no indicator for when CAPS is on. I like to know if I accidentally hit it before typing and having to erase after. A tiny LED indicator would make a world of difference but I am used to wired keyboards. I just have to get used to enabling a screen indicator instead.
Wrist/fingers conform naturally to the keyboard. Easy and comfortable so far.
This was the keyboard that I had before my G910 (also bought at Best Buy). The Wave keyboard is probably one of the most comfortable keyboards I have used. My G910 is great for games because of the excessively grooved keys but for typing the G910 is a nightmare with the raised keys. I actually liked my waves keyboard more than my G910, however, there can be some key lag depending on how far away the keyboard is from your pc. I play games on a TV so I was often sitting farther away from the PC than, let's say, a user with his pc laying on the floor beside him. It is because I am into gaming that I decided to ditch this keyboard for a gaming one but in all honesty the waves keys and key layout far surpassed the more expensive G910. The only reason I upgraded was to get a wired keyboard that would be more responsive in online gaming. For single player games this keyboard is perfectly fine but if you want to play competitive games you always want to go with a wired keyboard. I gave this keyboard 4 stars out of 5 because it is an amazing value in comfort and user friendliness, however, if they made this exact same keyboard with mechanical keys and a chord so that you could choose to go wireless or wired mode than this keyboard would be given a 5/5 and I would consider using it instead of my more expensive G910.
What I liked the most is the hand support, it is soft.
The keys wobble at the touch, if press a bit on the side, it won't trigger the letters.
Context Menu Key is a combination of Fn with Print Screen (in the top right corner).
I needed to replace my very old wireless keyboard/mouse, but this is not an improvement, I will return it.
When I dumped coffee on my last one I just replaced it with an identical one as I liked it so much. the padding isn't very thick but it is nice and comfortable to use. wish the keys weren't so loud/clicky. I do love all the quick keys for controlling music, video, etc.
I bought this set because I own just the Wave keyboard and am happy with it
for the most part. I find if not used for a while (even when left switched on),
It sort of goes into a sleep mode and the first few keys you press when you type
are not registered on the screen and you have to re-type.
I'm used to that and i keep it on my coffee table along with a separate unifying
The Mouse that comes with this package is a medium to large size piece of
cheap junk. The wheel is poor and the scrolling is horrible.
I used it to zoom in on Google Maps and it was way over responsive in a cheap
The mouse, although being a unifying type, requires separate software
which just feels wrong and buggy. (No on screen if re-programming the
extra buttons for things like volume)
I think Logitech has made some good products in the past but seem to becoming
cheaper in quality as time goes on.
This set is definitely being returned tomorrow for something else.
I'm just happy the guys behind the returns counter are good spirited and
Money is hard to come by, I'm not into wasting it on second rate quality.
Ergonomically it's so so, however the keys are crap. They constantly jam up if you don't click straight down. When one types we don't hit keys like on a pogo stick. Sometimes your fingers are angled when hitting keys so often keys won't go down. The mouse center button requires more pressure to get a click. I have taken the mouse apart twice already and completely washed every piece, except the circuit board, obviously. Still problematic. I have gotten so upset at this keyboard I bashed it with my fist once and busted one of its support feet. Don't get this keyboard. It's badly made.
I have been a fan of Logitech products for some time now, I'm currently using a MK700/ with a M705 laser mouse combo for several years not without issue on my one computer, and after my cheap Microsoft combo crapped out recently, I decided to replace it with the MK550 combo, which was on sale for half price and free shipping. The new combo arrived 4 days later , and much the same as the other combo that I have, all that was required was popping in the batteries ( which were included) then plugging in the unified receiver, and both keyboard and mouse were working flawlessly .
Once again extremely satisfied with another quality Logitech product, and can't say enough good things about it, I highly recommend it ..
I bought not long ago, but I was busy and I did not use very often.
I was typing something yesterday, and found out that the lagging is so obvious when you typing. It is hard for me to type as fast as used to....... Disappointed,
Looking for a wired one or better model..
Dont buy it if you do not like lagging when you typing.
Overall this is easily the worst keyboard I have ever owned, and that is solely due to the wave design.
The wave design makes little sense and constantly leads to errors in my typing. Having the keys at different levels makes it hard to know when to stop pressing the keys down. The lower keys (wesdxc, iokl,.) are regularly missed, or the higher keys in the center get pressed before hand. The fast that it curves up from the center makes little sense and makes reaching "q" and "p" require a little shift of my hands, greatly slowing down typing. Reaching tab in a hurry is impossible, and Ctrl isn't easy to get to either. I've resorted to on'y using the keyboard that came with my computer because of the wave design. Gaming can't be done, I remapped wsad to tgfh and it helped a bit but not much.
Other than the wave design the keyboard is pretty good. I'd recommend the non-wave model for sure. The mouse feels good in my hand is generally a pleasure to use. With the usb antenna thing installed the reception is good and latency doesn't seem to be an issue.
I bought this combo for work and I have just ordered one for my home desk. The layout is comfortable and I found my wrists and digits did not get as fatigued as they once did using a standard keyboard. I shopped around, looked at the Microsoft ergonomic counterpart in stores and found it wasn't close in comparison for ease of use (plug and play), layout, comfort. I did not need the CD that came in the package with the first one I bought, it was merely a matter of open, insert USB and away I went immediately using it. The Logitech MK550 was the right choice for me.
Have only used for a few days but we like the layout, especially the enlargement keys which are helpful re vision problems. Have not used other hot keys which we understand require a software update from Logitech.
The mouse and keyboard lag during heavy use. Useless for gaming of any other intense activity.
This was bought as a replacement for a Microsoft "natural ergonomic" keyboard that saw heavy use over a 7 year period, but which is apparently no longer available.
What the Logitech Wave lacks is a split in the centre, at the greatest height of the keys that allows for more space between the hands, a more natural, ergonomic position for wrists and hands. I miss it!
Otherwise, the Logitech Wave seems to be adequate, albeit expensive.
I am very happy with this purchase and it was a good deal.
I am very happy with my purchase. It works perfectly with my desktop. Never used with TV.
I've had this bundle for about two weeks now and have to say im very pleased. I use it with my alienware laptop connected to my big screen TV. I sit about 8 feet back from TV and it works fine. The mouse is very accurate and nice to hold. Highly recommend this bundle.
works great. have recommened this product to people.
I have purchased three of these units two for home and one for work. As far as using on a desktop to minimize clutter they are fine. However to sit back in a recliner and use with a tv they are not great. Anything over 6 feet away it drops the signal. All of these units are older ones with the receiver at the end of a long USB cable. The unifying receiver may have better range... not sure. Also the mouse tracks well on a mouse pad but again using on a couch it is very trying. I purchased a Bluetooth one for meeting room at work and it has much better range, however the rechargeable batteries are poor.
I have had this combo for about a month now having replaced a defective Microsoft combo purchased with my new desktop system. The hot keys for Windows 8 are awesome. I also find the shape of the mouse more comfortable than the Microsoft unit. While the combo is a bit pricey it is still good value for the money.
I have had this combo for a couple of years now, and unlike others complaining about the range of the uni receiever, I have never had an issue with range. would work easily for me from one room away. The mouse seems to be aging though now as it is starting to not reliably read the mouse pad and direction of movement well. it is a couple of years old so perhaps it is just wearing out. Battery life is top notch for both kybd and mouse!
Great keyboard and mouse. Haven't had any problems.
MK550 is better than MK310. I like it.
It is a solid keyboard. Does not feel cheap. Wireless works great excpet the range does not seem toget past 5 feet.
I loved the design and layout of the keyboard, and I didn't mind the feel of the keys, but the keyboard was malfunctioning within a few days of use. There would be long pauses where I'm typing and nothing is showing up, then 20 seconds later a string of letters appear but missing a few. It makes any type of gaming immpossible if keypresses are needed, you can't even play tetris since the arrow keys will lag. I thought it might've been the laptop lagging but if I alternately test the laptop keyboard and the logitech one, it's still just this keyboard that lags.
The mouse works just fine, though the design feels a little too big for my hand. It's very responsive though, and I haven't noticed any lag with it. I love the 4 way scroll.
I'm really disappointed with logitech, for such a pricey product you'd think they'd have basic functionality down. I don't care at all about what extra features a keyboard has, it just needs to work!
I've had this keyboard/mouse combo for just over a year and am already experiencing keyboard lag due to the wireless connection. I love the style and the keyboard is really comfortable but when I'm playing a game or typing a paper it's really frustrating to sudden have my keyboard stop working for 30sec or so then suddenly spew out a mash of letters.
Just bought the Wireless Wave and love it! So easy to install - great for someone not so technically inclined. Support software allows custom hot keys and more.
Very convenient and quiet! No more loud keyboard clacking.
Love the design and ergonomics - makes typing pretty comfortable. Would highly recommend.
