Nice keyboard with imperfect fingerprint reader

I bought this keyboard because I really like the one on my Surface Book 2. I also really like the Windows Hello authentication on my SB2, so I was hoping the fingerprint reader on this keyboard would be just as fast. However, I found that if you put your computer to sleep, the fingerprint reader takes 2-3 presses before it starts working. It might be faster for me to just type in my password. I'm used to the instant response of the fingerprint readers on my mobile devices, so having to repeatedly press to recognize my finger seems unnecessarily cumbersome and slow. I know it's possible for the fingerprint reader to work better because it works perfectly if you are cold booting the computer. It is only resuming from sleep that triggers this behavior. After owning it for a week, I'm still getting used to typing on this keyboard, as there is very little bezel on this keyboard to act as a "landmark" for your hands. I'm sure that it'll become natural in no time, but it's forcing me to retrain my muscle memory in ways I don't remember having to do for other keyboards, including my Surface Book. In the meantime, I'm finding that I make more typos than I normally would. Other than that, this is a great keyboard. It's light yet solidly built. The keys have a nice short travel, so it's easy to type fast. The Bluetooth pairing is nearly automatic. Just plug into a USB cable, turn it on, and Windows pops up a prompt to pair with a single click. There are useful keys for media controls, calculator, control panel, lock, etc. I can recommend this keyboard. I just hope that software updates will improve the performance of the fingerprint reader after resuming from sleep.
