- Must Have Accessory!!!- October 19, 2021
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Keyboard and Stylus – Even though the on-screen keyboard on the surface pro 8 works well, the optional Signature Keyboard and the slim pen is amazing and, in my opinion, a must buy. The keyboard clips on to the bottom of the Surface with magnets and the pen stays attached to the keyboard. I have always loved and have been amazed by the pen and keyboard combo from Microsoft. They keyboard is nice and firm, and the keys are responsive and can be lifted a bit to provide a better tying angle. The keyboard also has built-in storage and charger for the pen. They keyboard has a beautiful Alcantara finish and a large and responsive touch pad. The Slim Pen 2 also got some upgrades from the previous model. The pen is slimmer and a bit more tapered at the tip, so it provides for better handling. The pen also provides haptic feedback when used on the screen which was cool and just works so well with the screen. The pen can be used to write notes, feels so much better then writing on paper, or even just have fun and be artistic, (if my 7-year-old can do that on that with the pen, imagine what you can do, see picture) and serves as a screen protector for your tablet/laptop when not in use.Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.
- Great addition to the surface- November 2, 2021
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I can't say enough good things about this keyboard for the surface. The fact that the pen sits in a little recess which is 1. hidden if you fold the small flap up and 2. keeps it always safe when transporting is ingenious. Standard downsides of a flat keyboard aka not much key travel but key response is crisp and I felt like I could type at almost my full max speed on it. The fact that it's so svelte is nice though as it means I can take this along in place of an iPad versus I was always leaving my laptop behind because it was too clunky during meetings.Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.
- Excellent add-on. But too expensive.- October 20, 2021
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got the Poppy Red keyboard cover for my 2021 Surface Pro X (SPX) and I love it. Naturally, it mates perfectly to the SPX and transforms it from a relatively heavy 1.7lb tablet to a 2.5lb lightweight laptop. The Poppy Red isn't as red as in the pictures which was kind of disappointing. The Alcantara material is dense and very soft, and it does a good job keeping dirt and grime away. When the time comes to clean it, Microsoft recommends mixing two parts of water to one part of mild soap and rubbing it gently. The keyboard is well-spaced out, comfortable to type on fast, and the keys have good feedback. The travel distance is actually pretty decent considering how slim the keyboard cover is as is the uptake rate. I also liked how quiet it was. The glass touchpad is super smooth and my fingers glide across it effortlessly. I set up my own custom 3- and 4-finger gestures and taps and everything worked flawlessly. The Surface Slim Pen 2 fits neatly into its slot and doesn't fall out thanks to the strong magnet. I've used several different types of digital pens before (Galaxy Note, HP Chromebook, HP Spectre, Apple iPad) and I have to say that this Surface Pen is the best so far. It's light, very responsive, and easy to use. At $279.99 (as of 2021-10-19), this add-on is quite expensive and Microsoft should really either add it to the SPX package (my first choice) or lower the price way down. Despite the hefty price tag, I must recommend this to owners of the SPX because it extends the usefulness of the SPX and user experience so, so much.Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.
- Can't have a Surface Pro without it!- October 28, 2021
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] No Surface is complete without the type cover. It’s just the best way to have both worlds of tablet PC and laptop. Normally I don’t go for red, but at the time it was my only option, black was sold out. Now?, If Black and Red ever looked so good, this cover is the right color.. The neat thing about this one is the pen is stored way more safely than previous generations. The mag pen was fun for five minutes, then knocking it off and misplacing it became the norm. The pen charges right in that little alcove and snugly against the tablet when closed, so I am here for that design choice (please give the individual behind that one a raise.) They also cleverly changed the port so that there’s only two holes in the tablet’s underside, and the port plugs into the second hole. Again, clever.Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.
- Great Keyboard- October 28, 2021
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] As an addon, this keyboard is great. The keys are responsive and feel like a normal desktop keyboard. With the newest features on the Surface Pro X you get the benefits of more viewing angles which just makes using this keyboard EVEN BETTER. The Poppy Red is a very nice dull/muted red that doesn't hurt your eyes. I wasn't sure how I would feel about it but once I saw it with my own eyes... it was perfect. My favorite feature is how the pen sits inside the keyboard so I am less likely to lose it while traveling. It stays closed against the surface screen so no way for it to accidentally get knocked out.Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.
