Experience fast and reliable wired network connectivity with the NETGEAR 8-port Gigabit managed switch. Its plug-and-play design allows easy setup without the need for additional configurations, while the web browser or PC-based application management lets you easily control the functions. It also offers 6 Gb/s switching capacity with a 192KB buffer for stable connectivity to devices.

  • Eight Gigabit ports lets you connect multiple devices at the same time to create a secured and reliable wired network
  • Up to 10/100/1000 Mbps speed per port helps you enjoy data transfers, streaming, gaming, and more at optimal speeds
  • 6 Gb/s switching capacity with a 192KBbuffer for seamless connectivity to devices like computers, IP cameras, network storage, smart televisions, and video game consoles
  • IEEE Standards include IEEE 802.3 Ethernet, IEEE 802.3ab 1000BASE-T, IEEE 802.3u 100BASE-T, IEEE 802.3ab 1000BASE-T, IEEE 802.1p Class of Service, IEEE 802.1Q VLAN tagging, and IEEE 802.3x full-duplex flow control for fast, flexible, and reliable connection
  • Multicast filtering prevents unwanted applications running on the network from using multicast as well as prevents multicasting-based attacks
  • Up to 32 VLAN support lets you create consistent connection
  • Supports up to 128 multicast groups and blocks unknown multicasts to prevent unwanted traffic
  • IGMP snooping v1, v2, and v3 prevents the hosts on your network from receiving traffic for unknown multicast groups
  • Weighted Round Robin (WRR) mode ensures the number of packets sent from the queue is proportional to the weight of the queue to ensure smooth data flow
  • Strict Priority (SP) queue enables egress traffic from the highest priority queue to be transmitted first to reduce delay or lags
  • Plus utility module allows configuration download to the switch
  • Rate limiting lets you set limits to the speed on a port that will slow down the traffic on that particular when the limit is exceeded
  • Many-to-one port mirroring with 7source ports allow you to monitor the network connection on another switch port
  • Cable test utility ensures you enjoy the optimal strength and connectivity at all times
  • Quality of Service features helps in prioritizing the traffic to minimize the impact on a busy bandwidth
  • Built-in automatic denial-of-service (DoS) attack prevention keeps your network safe
  • Storm controls ensures monitoring of traffic levels, so it can drop unknown packets when the bandwidth exceeds to prevent degradation of speed or response times
  • Web browser or PC-based application management with passwords ensure safe configuration of VLANs, enables you to set up port mirroring, conduct cable tests, and more
  • Plug-and-play design lets you set up the network easily without requiring additional configuration or software

  • Simple on the Surface, Complex if you want it

What a great switch! The product has such plug-and-play simplicity with the depth of customization and security should you decide you want to take things a little deeper. The associated app enables you to manage things quickly and intuitively; it's a great tech purchase for the most neophyte of techies and the expert who wants a little more control without shelling for the next model up. Individual, traceable IPs, DHCP or Static for the switch itself. And it's built solidly too. If I were to accidentally drop it, I'd fear for the flooring more than the device. Well done, Netgear.

  • Excellent throughput and Control

My cable internet has a problem when running a large backup tot he cloud. It places a priority on upload packet acknowledgements which slows down downloads to a crawl. I hoped that the ability to control QOS and bandwidth for certain ports world let me even out the effect of the mass upload. The combination of QOS and flow control did the trick and I was able to go from a lowly 2mb upload speed to 8mbs while my cloud backup was running. Love the Netgear Smart Switch and the ability to control bandwidth of different ports !!!

  • Most User Friendly Switch.

This was my first managed switch that I got for my own personal use. I have used both Cisco and HP Enterprise manages switches in the workplace but this small 8 port managed switch is great for personal use. It gives you nearly everything that you could want from a managed switch including trunking (which surprised me). It has a high quality metal finish and you could even mount it to a wall (which is nice if you don’t have desk space for it). This is by far the best consumer grade managed switch and at a great price too.

  • Great little managed switch

If all you need is a 1Gb switch, then you can't really go wrong with this one. We have a couple of these switches in our home, now that we're both working from home all the time and there are a lot of devices passing a lot of data traffic throughout the house and from/into the outside world. I love that there is some management of the switch available, especially at such a low price. Frankly, our next step will be a fully managed 10Gb switch but for the moment, the Netgear is awesome.
