Great Wireless Camera System

We are very happy with the Arlo Pro 2 system, so much so that we installed 10 of the cameras around the house with 2 base stations. Signal strength to the base station is great and we have no issues with the wireless connectivity of the cameras. You can set up custom modes to record all motion or sound triggered events, and it has armed mode which will alert you if any motion/sound is detected. The batteries will last about 3 to 4 weeks when recording all motion or several months otherwise. Considering these are wireless cameras and optimized to prolong battery life, a second or two of recording delay can be experienced once motion is triggered. Love the 7 day free cloud storage and ability to hook up an external hard drive for years of recordings.

So so camera

When running on a battery many important advertised functions do not work, such as zones. Also, when on a battery cameras need ~10 seconds to wake up and start recording after motion is detected, by then it is too late to start recording already in most cases. There is a delay of about 10 seconds when watching cameras in "real-time", a person walked by the camera and already stands next to me, then we together can watch him walking by the camera on a screen, so it is pretty useless in this respect. Two-way audio has same ~10 sec delay issue, plus it is choppy. I could continue but it is enough to paint the picture.

Just okay

Motion zones only work when powered by wire. Far too many problems setting up and configuring. Some things work in App only others work only through web interface. In 24 hours one camera has gone offline 3 times randomly. Some settings are terrible. For example a camera on a porch viewing people stepping up will result in very dark faces (unrecognizable) because the sky and bright outdoors are behind and the camera's exposure is reduced to make those areas not too bright… the person face is shaded by the porch. When going in to brightness settings 75% is just 1 step up, 100% is 2 steps. So at 75% it is still way to dark to see a face. At 100% it almost everything is completely white. Seriously? there should be 3-5 steps between 75 and 100%. On the other hand (comparing to competitor) we are keeping them because wiring USB power outside it too cumbersome and we don't want to pay for more than a 24 hour cloud and we really want a local hard drive backup of video.

I have been waiting years for this tecnology!

Very happy overall, These cameras are expensive, so buy them when there are on sale. Easy to setup and great video quality. You can put theses cameras anywhere as they are wireless. You can even put them in a tree. If you move you can take them with you, not like many old wired one. I love getting text alerts where you know someone is on your driveway before they even make it to your front door.

Arlo pro 2

Great camera system, easy setup. this is our second purchase we already had Arlo pro. at another farm. Love being able to watch a sick animal if necessary all night without going outside, very easy to move around. Now we can see 4 deer 2 raccoons and multiple bunnies in the backyard all night long. Great security if anyone comes onto farm we will know, brings peace of mind.

Perfectly fulfiling my needs - works very well

After several days of use, I am very satified of this product. Works very well day and night. Easy start (synchronizing the Arlo base and the cameras) Easy to set the parameters and/or to change the parameters (the "rules") Very easy to look back to the events. Very good quality of the images (movies)

Excellent performance.

Installed Arlo Pro II with four (4) cameras and am very happy. We had some initial hiccups because of a firmware update that was initially required but quickly resolved it. The system has been running for about two months and has been performing very well. So well in fact that I just purchased a second Pro II system with four (4) cameras for another property. It seems all of these systems have their quirks but for the price, the quality and performance of Arlo Pro II is very good and I would definitely recommend it.

High price Camera

Some functions only works if you do hard wire. Its not completely wireless solutions.

Still not perfect - still with serious deficiencies

This is a good wireless camera system but comes with some deficiencies ...the system comes with only one (1) proprietary USB charging cable - you cannot use other usb cables ...this cable cannot be bought from Netgear if lost, damaged or you want an extra cable ...in order to use the activity zones, the cameras need to be ac powered ...if it only comes with one proprietary charging cable, you can only power one camera of your 5 cameras ...net gear sells a AC charging cable, but the end that fits into the camera is a 90 degree bend so the camera will not sit flat on the base.-it now needs to be mounted on something ...the pro 2 is a better camera than the pro, but not to when it comes to disguising the camera - the pro has a black face and black bezel around the front so if you want to disguise it with a black hood, it is completely black to look at, vs the pro 2 camera which has a black face with a white bezel around the face - it no longer blends into its surroundings because of the new white bezel - i'm guessing this was a marketing tool to distinguish between the two ...one would think that for the price, that Netgear could have provided one USB cable for each camera ...now for the positives: ...I like how easy it is to set the system up and move the cameras around the house ...free 7 day cloud video recording and notifications that I get on my phone ...the quality of the video ...that I can monitor the house remotely
