  • Works but possible defective unit?
    by

Pros: - Price - GUI and App controls - Easy set Cons: - 5ghz band was not being detected on some devices - It's pretty large router compared to ones I had before - Power cable is a tad shorter then my last one. I will be returning the router due to the 5ghz band issue. Maybe mine was defective but my wireless N router never had issues with any devices on this band. Firmware update and adjusting the settings for that network didn't resolve my issues, really did try to get it working but all this work should not be needed on a consumer router.

  • QOS is working but GUI is simplistic and lacks features

PROS: -Upstream QOS is working fairly well. Has eliminated the problem of a frozen network because one device is uploading to the cloud. -Handling the throughput from numerous devices quickly and efficiently CONS: -GUI is simplistic and lacks features -Cant locate the Downstream QOS feature mentioned on the box -Access control is either on or off. Can't set individual up and down bandwidths for each connected device (except a vague HIGH, MEDIUM, or LOW priority setting) -Can't see up or down traffic that each device is using.
