  • Great router
    Reviewed by Jc - June 3, 2021

This router is fantastic. Before with the standard modem provided by the internet company, I had a “strong” signal upstairs in the house. After installing this Netgear router and hardwiring it with a cable leading upstairs, my computer is lightning fast with a very strong connection. No more lag, low ping, and barely any latency for gaming. Usually I got around 280mbs now I’m pushing 380 to 480mbs (which is was I pay for). The Nighthawk app has run great so far with no issues and it’s very easy to monitor your WiFi and all devices connected to it. Overall it was a fantastic buy and I’d highly recommend to anyone looking to upgrade their home WiFi.

  • Best router for the Price!
Reviewed by Anonymous reviewer - May 7, 2020

When looking for a new router I found this one and after installing it had a slight hiccup when trying to upgrade the firmware but after got that going without much trouble this has been by far the best router I’ve ever owned as a tech persona for the price! I’m am surprised that my expectations for the routers range and speed have not only been met but actually exceeded! I live on 3/4 of acre lot and usually if I stepped outside the house to the back yard I would lose signal, now I can go almost everywhere to the most distant part of the lot and still be connected! Truly amazing and will not be let down with this router for such an affordable price! Worth it!!!!

  • Lost all faith in Netgear

Pros: Sleek, affordable. Cons: -An absolute mess of firmware/software solution. I'm not sure how the same company can put out a monster like the RAX80 and then squat and push these garbage extenders out. I've gone thru the AX6000 + AX1800 with VERY similar issues. -It doesn't detect the 5ghz band out of the box, you'll need to update your firmware after setup in order to do so. You'll need to log in and enable it after you update. -My RAX puts my speed is at 800/40 Mbps. The best this unit can muster is 180/30mbps at ten feet away from the RAX80. -Packet drops, packet drops, packet drops just like the AX6000.
