  • Thanks to the EXPEED 4 processor, it's easy to preserve your special moments in lifelike beauty. The powerful processor means you'll be able to shoot at high speeds of up to 5 frames per second and in low light conditions with high ISO sensitivity.
  • The native ISO range from 100-25,600 will come in handy when the sun goes down and the evening begins to buzz with new energy. Capture city lights, jovial banter, drinks on the terrace, and dancing until the early hours in pristine clarity.

Make moving memories

  • Full HD 1080p recording capabilities allow you to record video in crystal-clear detail at up to 60 fps. Special effects let you create a time-lapse video of your road trip along the Amalfi coast or an ultra-smooth slow motion sequence of that pier jump in the south of France.
  • Your go-to lens for everything from portraiture to landscapes, the included compact AF-S DX NIKKOR 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G VR lens will help you capture the historic charm of European cities, the quaint beauty of the countryside, and the smiles of the people who made it so memorable.
  • Capture fast-moving, high-energy scenes as they happen on the first click with the 11-point autofocus. This feature helps you get the shot you want without blurry results.
  • Want to see how your pictures came out? The vivid 3-inch LCD display lets you review your shots instantly.

Compact and connected

  • Nikon SnapBridge uses built-in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth LE technology to let you transfer photos to your iOS or Android smart device, making pictures instantly ready to share. Snaps of city skylines, portraits of travel companions, and other moments that catch your eye will automatically appear on your smartphone or tablet as you shoot.
  • The D3400 is compact and lightweight to go where you go. Whether you're trekking the Camino de Santiago or strolling along the Seine, this DSLR is designed to be by your side wherever the adventure takes you.

More power to you

  • The D3400 boasts an array of special effects, settings, and presets that you can apply to both images and movies. Daunted? Don't sweat it. Guide mode takes the guesswork out of that shot you're about to take and makes it easy to learn just about everything this camera can do.
  • A battery that'll get you 1200 shots per charge means you can spend more time framing inspired shots and less time twiddling your thumbs.

Great Camera

I purchased this item along with a 70-200 lens, extra battery and card. Every photo I've taken has great warm tones. The detail is wonderful. I used the bluetooth enabled snapbridge to pair with my phone and place photos on twitter and facebook in an instant. You can download free software from Nikon to edit photos. It is best to shoot RAW images for full features of the software. There are a multitude of presets, and you can use the camera in full manual mode instead of programmable ones. There is no wifi, but there is a slot for an accessory to do that. You can use an inexpensive remote control shutter available for using long exposures down to bulb. I've taken pictures in hockey arenas without flash through the glass. Many photos with other cameras may appear green, or yellow depending on the lighting in the arena itself. This problem solved with this camera. If there are photos that still appear this way, there are about 14 options of lighting that can be adjusted with the software. Buttons on the camera can be programmed. The flash can be used as regular flash, TTL and options for rear curtain flash. Red eye reduction is also an option because it is dedicated on the camera. There are editing options in the menu for straightening horizon lines, shooting in monochrome, taking a photo, and selecting it to be b&w and choosing one color to stand out. The camera is light, easy to use, and options for live view for the camera or use the eyepiece which you can select one focus point up to 11. A lot of things can be done with this camera and it is inexpensive. Highly recommended.

Love this Camera!

This is a fantastic entry level camera, I bought this camera from Best Buy on a Black Friday sale, and it came in a bundle with the kit lens and a nice 70-300mm zoom lens, I never use the kit lens, and I bought myself a nice prime lens that gets use a lot! This camera takes great shots, because of the price, the controls take a while to learn and get used to, they aren't laid out super well and for someone wanting to be able to change settings very quickly won't love the setup, but once you get the hang of it (and you will) this camera is an all around great bang for your buck, especially for an entry level camera. The technology that Nikon offers for transferring photos directly from your camera to your phone is quite rough, lots of the time it is super slow or even doesn't work, but when it does work, it's a nice touch to have! I know that if I stick with this phtotograghy thing, I will most certainly want to upgrade from this camera one day, but for the time being, it's a fantastic choice for me, or any beginner for that matter.

Nikon D-3400 A great entry level camera!

After using this camera on location ( waterfall/outdoor setting ) I was stunned by the quality of the images. I have used SLR cameras for many years, but I am new at photography with a DSLR and I am still learning how to use the various modes and options and trying to decipher the User's Manual as I go. I am pleased with my purchase and I look forward to many years of enjoyment taking photos with my D-3400 .
