- You'll die a big bunch.- November 29, 2020
It's extremely, EXTREMELY hard! I've had a lot of fun with this game but expect to die more than dark souls here. The mission system and areas leave a lot to be desired, the soundtrack is...not really there? You get some slight tunes on occasion but nothing to noticeable which is fine since it adds to the creepy factor. Customization is insane and the character creator is incredible (best looking one I've seen yet compared to other souls games). This is not from the creators of dark souls but it's so much like it that I have to compare them. Unlike Souls, this one has tons of loot and a heavier focus on online multiplayer. Overall, you'll die a lot.Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.
- Tough, but fair.- April 12, 2020
I loved the original Nioh; it was a great combination of games I remember loving growing, including Ninja Gaiden and Tenchu. How do you make that formula better? Just sprinkle in some soulsborne for good measure. Nioh 2 improves on everything the original had to offer, in a addition to actually letting you create your own character and weapon customization. As always these games have a steep learning curve, but the combat is really rewarding and it feels good to master your abilities. I'd highly recommend for fans of feudal Japanese lore, Dark Souls, and beautiful graphics.Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.
- Fun despite cheap deaths- December 12, 2020
its mostly fun. My only complaint is that all the enemies have what seems like rubber band arms -- meaning they will occasionally grab you and one shot kill you even when you are across the room from them. This is meant to make the game seem hardcore, but it just feels cheap. There is still fun to be had as long as you are ok with the occasional cheap deaths. If you liked the first Nioh, this is basically the same game just with the difficulty turned up due to the inclusion of more cheap move sets on the enemies with the second game.Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.
