Not there yet

I wanted to like this tech, but it's just not what I expected.... -Battery life SUCKS big time... -The video quality kinda sucks too, and the rings and "god's rays" are annoying. Spaces is useless for me personally. -Can get warm. Moisture can build up on lenses if gets foggy inside. -Expensive and can be built better for that money. -Not that many apps yet. All in all it's mediocre, and for this price it's not really worth it in my opinion. Especially because of the battery, and heat issues.

Oculus rips off American express cardholders

They charge extra on their store for people using American Express to buy apps and games. I cannot recommend any of their products on this basis.

Extremely impressed!

As a user of all types of VR from Oculus Rift and Vive all the way to cheap phone VR headsets, i was worried this headset would be more like a cheap gimmick phone VR, it really isnt. Oculus Go is a very good experience for what you pay! gaming can be intense and fun, would recommend Drop Dead, great shooter. but also fun and comfortable with free games like pet lab. I love this little standalone put on and play headset.

Excellent VR headset for most

My first VR headset I own and I'm thoroughly impressed! There's already enough free and paid content (VR "experiences" and games) even though it's just launched, since it's drawing on the vast library of Gear VR stuff in addition to new content developed for it. For example, you can watch Netflix on it! It has high resolution screen - even better than Oculus Rift. Admittedly, the existing games from Oculus, while really great for casual gamers, are limited if you are "hardcore" - but then it seems that if you're really that "hardcore", you would know how to side-load games and apps (like Minecraft, Quake VR, Doom VR, android games) or stream VR (like Skyrim). For the rest of us, being able to try out 360 3D experiences and even some amazing interactive experiences (e.g. try out the Tomb Raider VR and blade runner VR) make it all worthwhile. The motion controller included is great. Some games (like Temple Run) - need you to buy a separate controller. From my research, seems like X-box one S controller is the best - which is another cost to consider. The battery life works as advertised - roughly 2 hours - way more than enough since you will probably want to rest your eyes. Some of my friends get dizzy in in intensity apps/demos - you can stick with the Green "comfort" experiences/games - like Daedalus! Of course, also be aware that it is 3DOF limitation.... the pro is all your experiences are perfectly suited for sit-down entertainment with no other set-up - the con is you won't be walking around in the headset.
