- Excellent Landline Substitute- October 31, 2015
Highly recommended as a landline substitute. Sound is as good as our landline. I installed the Ooma Telo on our four port modem instead of the router, which is supposedly a preferred architecture. I couldn't get it to function until our Internet Service Provider set up an additional MAC address so that the router and Ooma Telo could be connected to the modem. I have requested that our existing landline number be ported and are only part way through this process. Ooma Telo keeps us posted of the porting status. I have contacted Ooma Telo a few times via their chat feature and find their customer support to be very good. So far, so good.

- Not great reception or sound- April 8, 2017
I have been very frustrated with a regular service provider and was looking for an alternative to keep my landline. I had done research and was told the Ooma system would be a good alternative. Very poor sound quality. Always feel like I'm talking through a tin can. Lots of problems getting it set up as they did not drop the initial number and had many many problems. Still keeping my landline but trying to finally transition to only cell service. I think having this ooma System will finally forced me to get rid of my landline after 35 years. It dropped many important calls and sometimes takes two or three dialings just to get through. Not happyNo, I would not recommend this to a friend.
- No comcast phone service anymore- October 5, 2017
When my 2 year contract expired with Comcast I was looking for a way to save some money. I found this Ooma system online and liked what I was reading. Almost seamless installation, had it up and running with the hour. Ported my old phone number and it took less than a week to be approved by Comcast. Only issue as during your trial period of the Premier service (which we passed on) your temporary assigned phone number you get when you first install shows up as your phone number on caller ID. This confused family and friends initial thinking it was a telemarketers calling. Dropped my phone bill from $35 to $5.34 a month with the same service.Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.
