Ooma Telo Home Phone System with 1 HD3 Cordless Handset

This is an amazing phone system. It has all the bells and whistles you could want, BUT some require a premium subscription, which adds a considerable cost. The basic free "subscription" is great if you don't need all of them. For instance, if you have a cordless phone system, chances are it includes an answering system, so you don't necessarily need the Ooma answering system. The killer for me was that we have a lot of family in the US and that incurs what could be significant extra costs, doubling (or more) the basic cost which is comparable to Magic Jack, but Majic Jack includes free US long distance. Also, be aware that although you can cancel the Ooma service, you CANNOT return the hardware to Best Buy.

Purchased this device and was unable to activate it. I called Ooma for assistance as per their website instructions. I was asked for the activation code and serial number. I was then told the device must be returned to Best Buy because it was "black listed". I

This review is for the handset that I use with the ooma security system. Call quality is exceptional although the handset itself has some downside. It being there is no headphone jack for this device. Set up itself was easy.

Works just as well as a landline, although I did upgrade my internet speed for better call quality. Only paying taxes for this service. May upgrade to the premium service in a few months. Highly recommend!

I bought this on the boxing day Sales and for the price it sounds very reasonable and easy to set up and hook up to the handset that it came with. And the options on how to hook it up to your ow home network. Whether you had a single connection with 1 modem and computer. Or if you have a small setup with Multiple computers hardwired and a couple of wireless devices. When signing up be aware that not all address may available in their Database when signing up. I had to end up calling in to speak with the rep to get it first activated. Once done we were able to update the address and postal code properly. Be very careful as well when signing up too. There is the base prices which is the basic plan and then there was a premium plan. Some where along the line on new set ups on accounts. It went automatically to the premium plan. Please make sure to select and make sure you have it on the right plan from the get go. Other than that the clarity of the calls are fantastic. Since I make only local calls. And it is a fantastic device compare to the pricing that I have seen from other providers.
