- Great for outdoor movie nights- August 14, 2014
Purchased this for my daughters outdoor movie night birthday party. The cost was a bit more than i wanted to pay, but based on my research i was paying for the capabilities i wanted; a summer outdoor movie night that did not have to wait for complete darkness. The setup of the projector was as simple as plugging it into my portable DVD player and pressing the power button. the setup menu was straight forward and finding the rear projection options was clear. the projector worked perfectly and provided a great movie experience for a dozen 12 year-olds. In fact it was so fun that we left it up and enjoyed movies for ourselves for the next week.Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.
- Great Home Theater Projector- February 11, 2015
I was looking for a replacement for an older Epson projector that lacked an HDMI port and after looking at all the specs landed on this Optima. I wasn't sure about it as I had only had experience with Epson and Hatachi, but ithaspriven to be just as good, if not better. The picture is crisp and clear with no ghosting. The only problem I had was that the throw distance was much different from my previous install which meant I needed to move the mount back, but it also gave me a good excuse to get a bigger screen. I've used it for sports, movies and TV with outstanding results. It made the "big game" a true experience.Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.
- Works great for home theater- March 30, 2014
We previously had an Infocus home theater projector. We paid $1500 for it. When we were ready for another lamp for that, it was no longer easy to find a new bulb for it. And when I did it was $300-$400. So I decided to see if I could find a new projector instead. This projector wasn't much more than a bulb would cost me for our old projector. We have it hooked up to our cable box, a Roku, and a Bose sound system. We also watch things from our computer on it by hooking up HDMI. The projector only has one HDMI port and with all these components we needed more. So we picked up a HDMI switch box and we are able to connect all the devices to it. The picture it nice and clear on HD channels and my husband is loving watching March madness on it.Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.
- works good- January 11, 2014
i had to replace my hd66 with this h180x optoma. then got a Samsung smart 3d bluray player and the dlp glasses(the original glasses i got for the hd66) wont pick up on the 3d movie, the glasses go dark then flicker then seems like they shut off. apparently the older glasses aren't compatible with the newer projectors, had to buy the Optoma BG-ZD301, DLP Link, Active Shutter 3D-Glasses. all in all i'm happy with this setup.Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.
- pretty decent projector for the price- December 27, 2014
I bought this projector to replace an optoma hd70 that I've had for 8 years and had finally failed on me. This one has a brighter picture and a much shorter throw distance. I just wish manufacturers would settle on where they place the lens. My last one had it on the left. This one is on the right. Making me have to move my mount and patch up the holes from the old placement.Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.
