(USA/CANADA/SINGAPORE/MALASIA/UAE & SUADI ARABIA)Paper Mario returns, bringing paper-based 2D environments to life for the 3DS.On the day of the annual Sticker Fest, Bowser decides to pull a prank and scatters six Royal Stickers across the land. To retrieve these mysterious, magical stickers, which are now stuck onto Bowser and his underlings, Mario sets off on an adventure with Kersti, a sticker fairy, visiting prairies, deserts, forests, snowy mountains and volcanoes around the world. Stickers are blended into every aspect of game play in the RPG adventure Paper Mario: Sticker Star. They become your arsenal of items and attacks in traditional Paper Mario action-battles and can even unfold the environment to reveal new areas and ways to progress through the game.

  • When Flat Games Get Dimensional Good Things Happen
Verified BuyerReviewed by BCSMITHROCKS - September 14, 2014

Paper Mario is a good mix of traditional Mario gameplay, with RPG battle elements that require planning and specific attacks on enemies that are only vulnerable to specific elements. The game is very easy early on, but this sticker based attack system requires not only timing, but also many trips back to town to purchase specific attacks, otherwise certain mini bosses are virtually impassible. The game is fun and looks great. Seeing the flat sticker characters on a 3 Dimensional plane is very cool looking. A cute fun game for kids with a little side helping of challenging battles for us RPG fans and bigger kids (adults).

  • A good installment in the series

While not the best game in the Paper Mario series, it's still a game worth playing.

  • Very different and fun take on Mario!

I loved the paper mario on the N64 and on Gamecube and decided to try out sticker star for my new DS. The story line is always the same, Peach gets kidnapped and has to be saved by Mario. In this case you also have to use the stickers that was at Peachs castle and destroy the enemies. At first I liked it but after I thought I got a hang of it, I was lost. Most games have a hint to keep you moving and adventuring through the plot. This more challenging because I don't see or get the hints that are in this game. Other then this It is a fun game and very original.

  • Wicked fun game for all ages
Verified BuyerReviewed by taavikun - May 25, 2013

The only other Paper Mario game I've played was on the Wii so I wasn't sure what to expect. Sticker Star turned out to be a very fun and addictive game. It uses a turn based battle system where hitting a button at the right time inflicts more damage or defends attacks better. It's fun figuring out which stickers do the most damage against certain foes. Just like any Mario game it's pretty much the same story where Bowser steals Princess Peach and you have to save her but it's still a very fun game. I tried to be pretty thorough and find all hidden items so it took me about 24 hours to beat. Not a bad length for a Mario game but I wish it could've been a little longer. All in all if you own a 3DS I would suggest this game to anyone.

  • Left me kind of flat
Verified BuyerReviewed by Chibo - December 13, 2014

When I play RPGs, I almost never use items. I get a kind of anxiety, as I only have a finite supply, and I might need them later. This is an RPG where the entire battle system is centered on using items, and it's probably therapeutic, but it's really unnerving. After a while, you realize that every battle you fight doesn't give you experience, all it does is waste your battle items, and you want to avoid playing any aspect of the game. Then, ultimately, the game itself. But it is charming, a better experience than a game.
