  • Worked great for one year
Reviewed by Not a happy customer - October 25, 2021

We purchased this product in August 2020, and it was great last winter. The spiral flame is pretty, and it throws off quite a bit of heat. However, when we tried to turn it on this year, the pilot light lit, but the main flame would not light. A service technician was able to identify the faulty part (the valve), but the manufacturer simply says that they do not consider that part to be replaceable. So, we got one season out of it, but now it is junk.

No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

  • lots of heat but poor fabrication
    Reviewed by joistguy - March 13, 2021

The heater puts out lots of heat and looks great. The quality of some of the fabrication of the parts is substandard. The four vertical screen pieces that surround the glass tube each have 4 threaded rods - one at each corner. During fabrication every one of these 16 connections had been cut or sheared off to the correct length and the threads had been deformed where the cut was made. It was impossible to assemble the nuts on those threads without spending at least 10 minutes on each one with a file to open up the thread. Some people would have given up or damaged the screens by cross threading the nuts if they did not see what the problem was. As it was I spent at least an extra two hours to assemble the unit and ended up with several nicked fingers. There is no reason that those parts should have left their shop in that condition. I felt that to be fair I would contact the manufacturer and ask for their comments before posting this review. I emailed their customer service department a week ago and have had no response. Not a good indicator of future service. I will update this review if they eventually respond.

No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

  • Looks great and keeps the chill at bay!
    Reviewed by Stan - April 9, 2021

First impressions are good. It's easy to assemble but I would recommend using a nut driver or socket set instead of the wrench supplied. It's difficult to get into some of the areas of the unit with the supplied wrench and not it's possible to really tighten the nuts. The dancing flame gives a bit of life and movement which is nice. Also as we have a cover over our pergola to stop the rain so the height of the unit works better than the taller units. There should be enough clearance to not damage our overhead cover. We look forward to evening get togethers in our pergola now that we can keep the chill at bay!

Yes, I would recommend this to a friend.
