You need to be a technician

Finally after 3 days of owning this tv, I got my external speakers to work. I was trying to set it up with a Receiver and separate speakers.I had the Sound set to "Bitstream"(read their explanation.) It should have been set to PCM (I thought that was personal computer). Also couldn't get the earjack to work until I figured out (no explanation in manual), I had to switch my receiver modeon the tv setting of the receiver - to Analog from Optical. Called customer support about the earphone problem and a guy told me to unplug my tv and wait a min. and turn ir back on! Very poor support. Same when I spoke to another support person (whom I could hardly understand due to her heavy accent) about the external speaker problem. Ended up hanging up on her! She didn't seem to know the product as well. Also read the fine print if you want the Closed Caption to work. It won't - if you are using a HDMI cable to hook the tv. Not sure if I am going to keep this or return it to the store (a) picture LED vs LCD and (b) if this is the kind of support Philips offers, not sure yet if I want to keep it.

Sound won't work with older external speakers

Negative: Tried to switch from the tv speakers to my RCA receiver speakers and it won't work. Only will switch with a HDMI link device for your audio output. I have the older 3 coloured wire to hook into and tried various inputs. Also the headphone jack wouldn't work and the closed caption. Must be a fluke (I hope).Positive: Set up the Chromecast from my android tablet to the tv to use Netflix and it was pretty easy. With some tweaking of the picture settings, got a really good picture. When I put in a dvd into my player and switched it over to watch, the picture was grainy and you had voice lag and had to adjust the motion technology. Needed to read the manual on how to use the remote. Not as simple as other brands. I prefer a tv with the LCD display and this has the LED style. Too much effort to get what you want quickly.

Awesome! Works well with Netflix UHD in Chromecast Mode

I played "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" using Netflix UHD from my smartphone to the TV via Chromecast mode. The picture looks way better compared to my old HDTV + Chromecast + Netflix HD. The sound from the built-in speakers is also crisp. Because of this I am no longer using my sound bar when viewing. And for the price, it's money well spent this season!

Awesome! Works well with Netflix UHD via Chromecast mode

Played "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" via Netflix UHD using my Samsung Galaxy S7 and casted it to the TV using its Chromecast input. Viewing looked way better compared to watching Netflix on my older HD TV. The Sound from built-in speakers is also very crisp that I disconnected my Sony PS3 Sound Bar after testing.

My fiance and I are in love with this TV. It was an absolute breeze to setup, the picture is brilliant and the sound is crisp and clear. Super pleased with our purchase.

First week

Got it 2 days ago. Sound-no complaining, picture ok, however i tried BlueRay and during action scenes if it is a lot black color on the screen ( fighting in caves etc.) picture becomes blury somehow . Regular DVD is ok. Chromecast is easy to setup but it doesn't remember the phone (it could be phone's problem LG G3). So you have to reconnect again and again... so I use Youtube through DVD player. I guess it is worth that money.

Perfect 50" 120hz 4k television made by Phillips. Chromecast is an absolute breeze to setup because there really is no setup, it automatically plays whatever you cast at it.. Picture and sound are top notch, very sturdy, no gimmicks, it does exactly what it says it does.
