  • Battery-saving function makes recorder turn off without saving files

from Kingsville, ON on 18 septembre 2018

I bought this product to record interviews that are more than an hour long. However, the two times I have tried to use it I have lost the recordings as the recorder shuts down by itself while recording and does not save the file. After looking into the manual for a long time, I found out that a battery-saving function was set to 5 minutes, meaning that the recorder would turn off if not pressed after five minutes - even if it's recording, and the recording is lost. This function can be changed to 30 or 60 minutes but not disabled. So if you are using it for recording that are more than an hour long, do not buy this device! You will have to remember to press it once in a while.
