Got this desk price-matched at competitor and free shipping. I'm pretty happy with that deal as the desk is solid and looks very nice. The laminate is not cheap and papery like on cheaper desks made of engineered wood. Two weeks using it and it still has a bit of a sawdust smell to it. Otherwise, pretty happy with it. I didn't both installing the keyboard tray as it is not at an ideal height and would likely jam into your thighs when you sit down.

  • Can't beat it for the price

The nice top and siding made of more solid wood give the impression that this desk it more than just particle board. Fairly easy assembly, but be careful when screwing in the keyboard tray to the metal sliders, the holes are so close to the edge of the wood that it can simply crumble easily. The tray is low to the ground (which is great for ensuring that your arms are at a 90 degree angle, this is a huge problem with taller desks), so make sure you have a height adjustable chair.

  • Not great

This desk is meant for someone under 5’2 and not good for people over 5’6 - especially if you plan on using the keyboard tray. They also could’ve easily added one more part to the back to cover up the unfinished edges - my desk does not face the wall so you can see all of them and it leaves lots of sharp corners. I’m going to have to remove the keyboard tray and put my keyboard on the top so my back doesn’t get messed up. I guess the $150 I paid is about right, mind you it also came with a scrape on the top I was unable to buff out. You’re probably asking why I didn’t return it? It’s better than the desk I had and I can’t wait for another one as I work from home.

No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

  • Very study but minor things to consider

The desk is amazing however when we got the desk it had no labels indicating which is which (A, B, C) you had to figure it out. There was also a small tear in the paper wood which eventually ripped more but we glued it down and it was fine. from that it's amazing. PS. The tear was our fault since we were rough with it while building it

This is a terrific desk for the price. Instruction diagram was complete, just focus on it and compare with the pieces and it makes sense. You need a few tools but nothing was any problem. Everything is in the box.

  • Fits our needs
    Reviewed by  - February 12, 2013

Really glad that Best Buy sells computer desks, because it was hard to find one that fit our needs perfectly, but this one does. Great small size that still holds two monitors and various other things on the desk top, with the tower on the side. Wasn't hard to put together, generally sturdy, and looks nice. The only issue is the keyboard/mouse tray. It's a good size but not very sturdy. It (along with the keyboard/mouse) fell down last week as I was using it and I wasn't applying much pressure. It doesn't slide in/out very smoothly either. Otherwise a great computer desk.
